‘Rick and Morty’ co-creators’ bizarre VR game gets new trailer and release date

The new trailer for Justin Roiland’s upcoming VR game is giving us some serious Interdimensional Cable vibes — but on acid.

Trover Saves the Universe is the Rick and Morty co-creator’s solo project from his newly launched Squanch Games studio. While the plot is hardly the point in this bizarre comedy, the press release mentions saving your dog (and the world) from some asshole named Gorkin.

Does anybody else smell a John Wick crossover?

The trailer also comes with the release date announcement, so you can expect Trover Saves the Universe to be out on May 31 for PS4 and PSVR, then June 4 for PC. Read more…

Nothing keeps out thieves and ne’er-do-wells more effectively than a D Minor musical composition.

That’s the latest idea Tesla CEO Elon Musk proposed for his 360-camera theft prevention “Sentry Mode” that he plans to bring to electric Tesla cars with Enhanced Autopilot. He says a “rough” beta will be released sometime in February.

The latest details of the car monitoring system — that sound like a joke, but knowing Musk are possibly real(??) — were introduced on his Twitter page Saturday night. Musk claims the watchful cameras will play Bach’s Toccata and Fugue composition. He also said thieves might hear the metal versions of the classical piece. Read more…

TV scripts often go through many drastic changes as they evolve in a writers room. 

But there’s something uniquely hilarious about watching this happen to Rick and Morty, as co-creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland deliberate — with all the seriousness and anxiety in the world — over how best to use the “ISIS werewolves.”

What the fuck are ISIS werewolves, you ask? We don’t know and never will, because the concept didn’t make it into the final form of ‘The Rickchurian Mortydate.’ 

But boy, that phrase really gets the imagination going.

The recently released Adult Swim video shows a rare, candid glimpse at just how much hard work goes into crafting a show like Rick and Morty. Comedy is serious business. And the early plot to the Season 3 finale titled sounds almost unrecognizable.
