A grab bag of 2018 TV spoilers lies ahead. You have been warned.

We’re not mad. Just disappointed.

The past twelve months of TV gave us killer comedy specials, incredible new series, and a whole lot of (positive) NOPE. Unfortunately, in the words of renowned television critic Isaac Newton, what goes up must come down. Hard.

From Pete Davidson mocking a veteran on SNL to the hellscape that was the Season 2 finale of 13 Reasons Why, here are 9 of the most irresponsible TV moments of 2018—in ascending order of do better-ness

Note: We’re keeping this list in the entertainment realm — hard news obviously had its own host of issues this year. Read more…

What theme will ‘American Horror Story’ Season 9 have?

Spoilers for American Horror Story: Apocalypse lie ahead.

So, we’ve got chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose, and something something about “Yuletide carols”? Ugh, disgusting.

With the killer finale of American Horror Story: Apocalypse finally aired, it’s safe to say 2018’s Halloween season has come to a close—and for us goblins and ghouls still clutching our moldy pumpkins, that pretty well sucks.

But never fear, spooky friends. All Hallow’s Eve will come again and with it AHS will return for not only a Season 9, but also a Season 10.

The internet’s best theories on the final episodes of ‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’

TwitterFacebook

Major spoilers for American Horror Story: Apocalypse lie ahead.

With just two episodes left in the season, American Horror Story: Apocalypse is rapidly approaching its own doomsday—and its characters have a lot of ground to cover before delivering a worthy finale.

Ever since the coven’s victorious Episode 3 return, fans have been eagerly awaiting a witches vs. Satan, Cordelia vs. Michael showdown. The outcome of this fight to the finish will have implications of biblical proportion for the entire AHS multiverse.

Naturally, fans are taking sides.

The promising cooperation of Voodoo Queen Dinah Stevens in Episode 7 seemed to tilt the scales in the coven’s favor. (And that’s a good thing for, you know, humanity.) Read more…

We need to talk about that frog dissection on ‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’

TwitterFacebook

Spoilers for American Horror Story: Apocalypse and Coven lie ahead.

That poor woman. Those poor frogs.

Over its eight seasons, American Horror Story has put its viewers and cast through a lot. Max Greenfield was forcibly sewn into mattress. Frances Conroy got burned at the stake—twice. Adina Porter even watched her own leg meat get cooked and eaten by cannibals..in front of her

All of this, I was willing to accept. Being an AHS fan comes with risks. I know what I signed up for.

But what happened to Lily Rabe on last night’s episode of Apocalypse has me enraged, sad, and (honestly) a little nauseous. Read more…

‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’ goes full demonic… Hogwarts?

TwitterFacebook

Murder House, Coven, Hotel, Apocalypse… and now, American Horror Story: Hogwarts?

Episode 4 of AHS: Apocalypse explored a number of its own universes—including an unexpected visit to Season 5’s Hotel Cortez—but it also seemed to borrow a lot from J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world. Specifically, 15 minutes of the episode closely mirrored plot points from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Let’s recap! The latest episode cleared up a lot of the confusion from Episode 3 through flashbacks. The first took us to Hawthorne School for warlocks aka AHS’s all-male Hogwarts. There we meet a whole bunch of magical professors who are looking for the boy who lived “the one we’ve been waiting for.” Read more…

‘American Horror Story’ finally brought its witches back and no one knows what it means

TwitterFacebook

Spoilers for American Horror Story: Apocalypse and Coven lie ahead.

Hell to the yes. The latest installment of American Horror Story: Apocalypse featured a sexy blood bath, a world-ending Billy Eichner, and finally some witches.

The long-awaited return of Season 3’s Coven came within the episode’s last few minutes when Cordelia Foxx, Myrtle Snow, and Madison Montgomery made an appearance at Outpost Three’s puke-covered Halloween soirée/mass murder.

Loyal AHS fans lost their minds for this first major crossover plot point and the reappearance of three beloved characters—while new viewers were left completely in the dark. (Check out GameSpot’s recap or stream Coven on Netflix if you’re the latter.)  Read more…

The apocalypse scene from ‘American Horror Story’ will make you scared of your phone

TwitterFacebook

I haven’t been this scared of my phone since Drew Barrymore picked up the line in Scream.

Last night’s premiere episode of American Horror Story: Apocalypse depicted the end of days in a pretty standard fashion—lots of screaming, running, crying, etc. But one cellular detail brought the campy series’ take on the world’s end to a very real and very 2018 place.

In the season’s opening scene, three main characters are casually discussing pressed juice and Instagram fame when a loud blaring noise fills the room. Instantly, they reach for their phones.  Read more…

First ‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’ teaser is absolutely world-ending

TwitterFacebook

Calling all nightmare collectors and scream queens. It is time to reconvene—American Horror Story: Apocalypse is nearly upon us.

If you still have the resounding failure that was AHS: Cult freshly seared into memory, you may be hesitant to check back into Ryan Murphy’s hellscape anthology. Luckily, the first teaser for Season 8 features a promising return to the dark and twisty… minus the Cheetos.

Per tradition, the teaser doesn’t reveal much beyond the established apocalyptic theme. However, the overall atmosphere, graphics, and anachronistic soundtrack are giving strong Murder House vibes. And that makes sense considering the confirmed Murder House and Coven crossover set to unfold this season. Read more…
