Protestors project message for Trump at college football championship

While much of the conversation on Monday night was about the overtime thriller that saw Alabama claim yet another national college football title (ugh), there were still murmurs of protests directed at Donald Trump. 

While tens of thousands of fans filed into Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta for the title game, several groups of protesters, including a local chapter of the NAACP, gathered to protest Trump’s drop-by .

One particular group — Newsweek reported it was “ResistNow” based off tweets from a user of the same name — let their feelings be known by the hottest protest method around: giant projections on the side of a building.  Read more…

If you want people to attend your hockey game, hold wiener dog races on the ice

There’s nothing in the NHL rulebook that says a dog can’t play hockey.

That’s just the sort of bravery that minor hockey league team the Atlanta Gladiators showed on Tuesday night, when they held their first wiener dog race. 

It’s exactly what it sounds like. In between periods, they lined up a bunch of Dachshunds on a blue line and off they go, slipping their little legs on the hopefully-zambonied ice.

Chick-fil-A steps in to feed the stranded at Atlanta airport… on a Sunday

Chick-fil-A, famed for never opening on Sundays and will likely never be, has made an exception.

The fast food chain is stepping in to feed passengers left affected by the Atlanta airport blackout, according to the City of Atlanta

They’ll be served at the Georgia International Convention Center, where they are able to stay overnight, which is a pretty nice consolation given what some of these people have gone through.

The City of Atlanta has mobilized the Georgia International Convention Center and will provide shuttle services for anyone who needs a place to stay for the night@ChickfilA will provide food for passengers.
