These guys broke the world record for the highest basketball shot

TwitterFacebook

Most of us struggle to get a basketball in the hoop from mere feet away.

Yet Australian YouTubers How Ridiculous have made something of an art of shooting from long distances, breaking the world record back in 2016 for the world’s highest basketball shot.

Well they’ve done it again, this time over the Maletsunyane Falls in Lesotho, Africa with an unbelievably epic 201.422 m (660 ft 10 in) shot on Jan. 13 that’s become a new world record.

It’s the fifth time the group has broken the highest shot record, but who knows if they — or anyone else — will top this feat. Read more…

Nike’s Sony PlayStation-themed sneakers are so nerdy, and everyone loves it

TwitterFacebook

Love PlayStation? Love Nike? Perfect, because these are the kicks for you — even if you don’t like basketball.

George Paul, small forward on the Oklahoma City Thunder, worked with Nike and Sony to create the PG-2 “PlayStation” sneakers, one of the nerdiest, tech-infused sneakers ever created.

Designed by Tony Hardman, the same lead designer behind Paul’s first sneaker, the PG-1, the new model (in case it wasn’t already completely obvious) is inspired by a PlayStation 4 and its DualShock 4 controller.

Paul says he wanted to make a PlayStation-themed sneaker because he considers himself “one of the biggest gamers in the NBA” and he’s taken his gaming with him everywhere, ever since he received a PlayStation 2 for Christmas as kid. Read more…

5 new 🔥 NBA uniforms that you’re gonna want real bad

TwitterFacebook

Cheer up, Memphis. The Grizzlies are a pitiful 10-24 this season, but at least they’re getting some cool new threads.

The NBA and Nike dropped special “City Edition” uniforms for the 2017-2018 season on Wednesday and some of them look amazing. (Others not so much.)

Here are the hottest — and worst — jerseys you’ll see sporadically on NBA players for the rest of this season.

Chance The Rapper finally gets the recognition he’s been waiting for, thanks to the Chicago Bulls

TwitterFacebook

Anyone who’s ever heard of Chance The Rapper should know his occupation. I mean if you pay close attention to his name, you should get it pretty easily.

However, about three weeks ago at a Knicks vs. Cavaliers game at Madison Square Garden, someone felt that it was necessary to stress what he does for a living by adding a pretty obvious and redundant caption when he popped up on the big screen—”Chance The Rapper, rapper.”

Watch Denzel Washington throw a bowl of cranberry sauce through a basketball hoop

TwitterFacebook

Even when Denzel Washington is throwing a bowl of cranberry sauce at a basketball hoop, he still somehow manages to make it look cool.

In the clip above from The Tonight Show, Washington competes against Jimmy Fallon in a “Random Object Shootout”. Basically, they take turns throwing a range of weird stuff — everything from a butternut squash to an actual VHS tape of the Spike Lee classic He Got Game — at a basketball hoop. It’s just as hard, and as messy, as it sounds.

Ultimately it’s a pretty close-fought contest, but luckily Fallon drafts in some surprise help at the end to give him an edge. Read more…
