The IRL Kanye West/Donald Trump meet-up was funnier than this ‘SNL’ cold open

Kanye West came back to Saturday Night Live this week. Sort of.
The latest episode’s cold open sketch imagined what the scene must have been like inside the White House on Thursday when West sat for lunch with Donald Trump and NFL hall of famer J…

Kanye West said that Apple should build Trump an iPlane

TwitterFacebook

Immediately after Kanye West revealed his terrible iPhone passcode to the world, he said that Apple should build Trump the iPlane1.

“I brought a GIF with me right here,” West said in the Oval Office on Thursday during a meeting as he turned his phone over to the president. “This right here is the iPlane 1. It’s a hydrogen-powered airplane, and this is what our president should be flying in. We’re going to have Apple, an American company, work on this plane.”

“This is what our president should be flying in.”

Kanye West reaches over the Oval Office desk to show realDonaldTrump a picture of a hydrogen plane.

The rapper says if Trump “don’t look good, we don’t look good”.

What does the Music Modernization Act mean for your streaming subscriptions?

TwitterFacebook

The Music Modernization Act (MMA) is officially law. And, as evidenced by the musician-packed Oval Office from earlier this afternoon, that means a lot of things for a lot of different people.

The former bill turned law ensures artists receive the compensation they are owed, encourages fair industry competition, and protects the intellectual property rights of studios nationwide—among other benefits

While the journey to get MMA in place was a long, hard-fought battle between the tech and music industries, MMA’s final form will be implemented beginning January 1, 2020.

So, how will this sweeping copyright reform affect you and your daily music lineup?  Read more…

Kanye West just accidentally revealed his iPhone passcode and it’s so bad

TwitterFacebook

Kanye West met with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Thursday, and it was a mindblowingly bizarre scene. But perhaps nothing topped the moment Kanye when whipped out his iPhone and we all learned his passcode.

In the middle of an extended filibuster to open the meeting — in which even President Trump was stunned into silence — Kanye took out his iPhone to show President Trump a GIF of a hydrogen-powered plane. But first he entered his passcode in full view of the entire press corps.

Yep, he just entered a whole slew of zeroes.

That’s it.

That’s all it takes to get into Kanye’s phone.  Read more…

Lana Del Rey basically eviscerates Kanye West’s MAGA Instagram post

TwitterFacebook

Kanye, sometimes it’s best to step away from the phone.

You’ve probably seen the tweets on your TL. On Sunday night Kanye — who now goes by “Ye” — posted a photo of himself wearing a MAGA hat on Twitter and Instagram alongside a message expressing support for Donald Trump. In the very same post, he talked about abolishing the 13th Amendment of the United States — the amendment that abolished slavery.

Lana Del Rey, who performed at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding, left a scathing comment on his Instagram post.  Read more…

Kanye West’s comments about the 13th Amendment are confusing and bad

TwitterFacebook

Oh no.

Kanye West took to social media on Sunday to tell everyone that he supports the messages of Donald Trump while wearing a MAGA hat. In the same tweet, he wrote that he wants to abolish the 13th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America — the one that abolished slavery.

this represents good and America becoming whole again.  We will no longer outsource to other countries. We build factories here in America and create jobs.  We will provide jobs for all who are free from prisons as we abolish the 13th amendment. Message sent with love pic.twitter.com/a15WqI8zgu

Kanye West, armed with his MAGA hat, naively rants at the ‘SNL’ audience

TwitterFacebook

Kanye West was the musical guest for the Season 44 premiere of Saturday Night Live. He brought his MAGA hat along.

It was originally supposed to be Ariana Grande, but she cancelled. So instead we got West, performing three songs (not SNL‘s usual two): A debut of “We Got Love,” featuring Teyana Taylor, along with “Ghost Town” (from West’s June 2018 album, Ye) and “I Love It,” featuring Lil Pump.

Those who attended the show’s live taping were also treated — maybe not the right word to use here, but just go with it — to another Kanye West trademark: An impassioned rant.

“They bullied me backstage. They said ‘Don’t go out there with that hat on.’ They bullied me.” Read more…

Kanye West and Lil Pump’s new music video is a meme goldmine

TwitterFacebook

Kanye West, naturally, is a meme again.

He hasn’t released a single music video for any of the songs on his newest album — not even for the poop-scooping single “Lift Yourself” — but he did take a break from running Pornhub’s first awards show to premiere his new collaboration with Lil Pump.

In the music video for “I Love It,” Lil Pump and Kanye don enormous boxy costumes and comically oversized Yeezys while waddling after a giant version of comedian Adele Givens.

It’s a lot to take in.

Kanye West just apologized to Drake in a very public way

TwitterFacebook

It’s the end of an era — for now. After many months of tense back-and-forth, Kanye West has issued a very public apology to Drake.

On Wednesday, West hopped on Twitter to apologize to the artist, referencing a myriad of squabbles between the two (and their affiliated artists) over the years, including the 2016 beef between Kid Cudi and Drake, and Drake’s feud with Pusha T that resulted in the reveal that the former is a father.

“Sending good energy and love to Drake and family and crew,” West wrote on Twitter, sharing a photo from Drake’s Instagram account of the “Aubrey and the Three Amigos” tour. “I haven’t seen the show in person but the images look incredible online,” West continued. “I understand where the confusion started.” Read more…
