Celebrities are finally getting in on the ‘it me’ joke

TwitterFacebook

It should not be a surprise that celebrities know you’re tweeting about them.

Lately, though, they’ve really been showing it. This summer, Laura Dern, Angela Kinsey, and Kim Kardashian have all responded to tweets about themselves with a particular self-awareness that’s gotten lots of attention.

Each of the tweets to which they’ve responded involves, in some way, the celebrity’s public persona. For example, the most recent one describes “being the Kim Kardashian of the family” as “exhausting.”

“I feel you,” Kardashian West replied.

Kim Kardashian says she has ‘nothing bad to say’ about Trump

TwitterFacebook

Last month, 62-year-old Alice Marie Johnson had her life sentence for a non-violent, first time drug offense commuted by Trump.

It’s all largely due to the efforts of Kim Kardashian West, who appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday to talk about the encounter.

She largely talked about her meeting with the president and the subsequent release of Johnson — also revealing that she was in the middle of a nude photoshoot when she received the news from Trump.

“Did the president know you were just in a robe and nothing else?” Kimmel asked. “Because he probably would’ve released the whole prison if you told him.” Read more…

Kim Kardashian West said she wants President Trump ‘to win’ and people are not happy

TwitterFacebook

In May, Kim Kardashian West met with President Donald Trump in a successful effort to free a great-grandmother serving a life sentence in prison for a first-time drug offense. Now it seems as if her willingness to believe in the Trump administration is still holding strong.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kardashian West took a break from selling beauty products at her KKW Beauty pop-up store to talk politics. She shared her thoughts on the ongoing “zero-toleranceimmigration policy that’s separated families at the U.S. and Mexico border — but it’s her comments about Trump and his administration that have people cringing. Kim Kardashian could be our best hope for getting a Twitter edit function

TwitterFacebook

Two weeks after meeting Trump to discuss prison reform, Kim Kardashian West is back fighting the good fight, this time trying to fix Twitter.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Kardashian said she had a “very good convo” with CEO Jack Dorsey about the oft-requested feature at Kanye West’s birthday on the weekend.

“I think he really heard me out on the edit button,” she wrote.

Issa Rae made a bold Kanye West joke right in front of Kim Kardashian

TwitterFacebook

Issa Rae’s bold and brazen humor took centerstage at the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday night.

The creator and star of HBO’s Insecure hosted the event and, as always, kept things all the way real, taking a few verbal swings at Kanye West despite knowing that West’s wife Kim Kardashian was in attendance.

During her opening monologue, Rae hilariously threw the rapper under the bus for his recent controversial Twitter commentary and his remarks to TMZ that he believes slavery is “a choice.”

“I’m about as fashionable as Kanye is black – only when it’s convenient,” Rae said, according to USA Today reporter Maeve McDermott who was in attendance at the event. “That joke was my choice, just like slavery,” Rae continued.  Read more…

Trump tweeted this painful photo after the meeting:
