Pennsylvania schools are arming their teachers with very useful mini baseball bats
In the midst of a national gun debate led by victims of the Parkland shooting, one Pennsylvania school district is taking a … rather questionable approach to protecting students from another in-school tragedy.
The Millcreek School District announced Wednesday that it will be arming its 500 teachers with miniature baseball bats to fend off potential school shooters.
It didn’t take long for Twitter users to criticize the decision.
“According to Hall, the 16-inch bats were distributed to each teacher, following an in-service training day on how to respond to school shootings.”

The Parkland teens wield real power. Just ask Laura Ingraham and Frank Stallone.
Two minor right-wing celebrities, two half-assed apologies that feel more forced than sincere. They might have gotten away with it too, if not for those meddling kids and their pesky tweets.

The online game allows players to become one of three avatars inspired by real Stoneman students— Emma, David, or Delaney — and march to Washington to change gun laws. Read more…

The student walkout at Columbine High School carries a special meaning
While students at schools across the country participated in a National School Walkout to protest gun violence in the wake of the deadly February 14 shooting in Parkland, Florida, the walkout at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado carried extra emotional weight.
The April 20, 1999, shooting at Columbine was devastating in its scope and marked a new stage in the way the media — and the country — reacted to school shootings. A total of 13 people were killed: 12 students and one teacher. It remains one of the deadliest mass shootings in the country’s history. Read more…

Eminem is never one to turn down a moment to get political, and his Sunday night iHeartRadio Music Awards performance was no exception.
“This whole country is going nuts and the NRA is in our way / They’re responsible for this whole production / They hold the strings, they control the puppet,” he rapped at the top of his performance of “Nowhere Fast,” featuring Kehlani.
Parkland shooting survivor Alex Moscou, who was joined by Big Sean, introduced Eminem at the show. You can watch Moscou below, calling out politicians and promoting the March For Our Lives on March 24th.
