Sarah Palin interview may have been cut from Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘Who Is America?’

Sacha Baron Cohen shows no mercy to his interviewees — except, perhaps, for one very notable exception.

At a panel for the Television Critic’s Association on Monday, Showtime entertainment president Gary Levine revealed that the Sarah Palin interview, one of the most anticipated segments of Who Is America?, might not even make it to air.

When asked when the Palin episode would air, Levine started throwing caution to the wind. “There are several people who have thrown themselves in front of buses that may not be headed their way,” he said, according to Entertainment Weekly. Read more…

Sacha Baron Cohen got a bunch of GOP congressmen to say arming toddlers is a good idea

Am I surprised that a bunch of Republican congressman endorsed arming toddlers? No. But, as usual, I wish I had higher expectations.

Sacha Baron Cohen’s new show, Who Is America?, began streaming Saturday night before its official premiere on Sunday. As you probably already know thanks to Sarah Palin’s extensive complaining, it’s classic Cohen fare — the comedian has been interviewing U.S. politicians and lobbyists while wearing disguises for the past year. 

In a portion of the first episode, Cohen assumes the persona of Erran Morrad, an “Israeli anti-terrorism expert” pushing a program called Kinderguardians, which would train children as young as three how to use firearms.  Read more…
