Jack Ma says he isn’t about to retire from Alibaba but is planning a gradual succession

Reports of Jack Ma’s impending retirement are greatly exaggerated, it seems. Ma, the co-founder and executive chairman of Alibaba, has pushed back on claims that he is on the cusp of leaving the $420 billion Chinese e-commerce firm. The New York Times first reported that the entrepreneur plans to announce that he will leave the firm to pursue […]

This dad’s letter to a teacher defending his son deserves a massive A+

TwitterFacebook

There was nothing sweeter at school than the surprise of having your parents take your side over the side of your teacher.

But if they actually confronted them it was even better.

On Tuesday, comedian Seann Walsh shared an old letter he said his father wrote to his teacher after he got in trouble back in his school days.

A letter from my dad to a teacher during my school years. I think the appropriate emojis are 😂 and 🙈. “Life’s hard enough” 👏👏👏 pic.twitter.com/CouOv26etw

That final line is the real killer: “Isn’t this just a little bit petty? Life’s hard enough.” Read more…

Kid’s super deep response to classroom riddle is way better than the actual answer

TwitterFacebook

Kids may say some spectacularly funny things at times, but every now and then they can be impressively wise too.

On Tuesday, teacher Bret Turner tweeted about a recent puzzle he’d set for his first grade class.

“I am the beginning of everything, the end of everywhere,” reads the riddle. “I’m the beginning of eternity, the end of time and space.

“What am I?”

The first response he got, while ultimately wrong, was pretty deep.

The first guess from one of my 1st graders was “death” and such an awed, somber, reflective hush fell over the class that I didn’t want to tell them that actually the answer is the letter e, which just seemed so banal in the moment pic.twitter.com/7sYFxHNcZk
