Will Smith tries an Australian meat pie, wonders why it has be so scalding hot

TwitterFacebook

You know Will Smith is rather good at Instagram, but you might not know he’s doing the vlog thing now.

In his latest video, which covers his recent fun-looking trip to Australia, Smith reviews the Australian meat pie (1:10 in the video) — a national icon and a source of criticism when Americans don’t eat it correctly.

Fortunately, Smith eats the Four ‘N Twenty pie properly with some guidance (with your hands, always) and seems to be a fan, but wonders why Aussies always scald their mouths while eating it.

“It’s really, really good. But why don’t y’all wait until it gets cool?” Smith asks.  Read more…

An ode to Will Smith’s perfect Instagram account

TwitterFacebook

If you ask me, there was only one good thing to come out of social media in 2017 and it came with three weeks to spare.

It wasn’t the tide pod craze, it wasn’t Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s strange flight, and it wasn’t the drama involving the royal wedding’s guest list either — it was Willard Carroll “Will” Smith Jr. and his brand new, fresh out the box Instagram account. It’s perfect in every way, and if 2018 keeps going the way it is, it might just be the best thing about this year too.

The beloved Smith has always discussed why he’s grateful he didn’t come up in the time of timelines and avatars. “Fortunately, most of my career, I was shielded from that level of scrutiny. There actually was privacy. There was actually the ability to create mystery,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2015.  Read more…

Chance the Rapper has some thoughts about ‘Bright,’ Will Smith’s new Netflix film

TwitterFacebook

Bright, starring Will Smith, hasn’t been received well by critics, including Chance the Rapper.

The movie, which is streaming on Netflix and currently has a 28 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, is “Training Day meets Lord of the Rings,” as Smith described it. It was directed by David Ayer — the same dude who helmed Suicide Squad

One critique that keeps popping up is how it deals with issues like racism, and on Tuesday, Chance had something to say about it.

“I found the way they tried to illustrate America’s racism through the mythical creatures to be a little shallow,” the rapper tweeted, before diving a bit deeper into the film. Read more…

Poor Will Smith! Critics tore apart Netflix’s first hopeful blockbuster, ‘Bright’
