Trump attacks Kavanaugh’s accuser in a string of despicable tweets

TwitterFacebook

President Trump has finally done the unthinkable — and yet it was somehow expected. Friday morning he took to Twitter to attack Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault.

Dr. Blasey has until now escaped Trump’s direct wrath — to the surprise of many. But by Friday Trump was no longer holding back. He’s come out expressing doubt as to the veracity of Ford’s claims and is continuing his ongoing defense of Kavanaugh.

Judge Brett Kavanaugh is a fine man, with an impeccable reputation, who is under assault by radical left wing politicians who don’t want to know the answers, they just want to destroy and delay. Facts don’t matter. I go through this with them every single day in D.C.

GoFundMe to support Kavanaugh’s accuser surpasses goal in several hours and is still going strong

TwitterFacebook

It’s been a nightmarish week for Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who recently accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, but there’s also been a big outpouring of support for her after she decided to publicly share her story.

Over the summer, Dr. Blasey — a professor at California’s Palo Alto University — wrote a confidential letter to senior Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein claiming Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her more than 30 years ago when she was in high school.

After making the difficult decision to publicly come forward, Dr. Blasey has been questioned and ridiculed many, including Donald Trump Jr., and — after receiving a number of death threats — she and her family had to vacate their residence and arrange for private security. A GoFundMe page was set up Tuesday to financially assist Dr. Blasey and her family in protecting themselves, and it met its goal of $50,000 within just four hours. Read more…

Senator Hirono wants men to ‘just shut up’ and ‘do the right thing for a change’

TwitterFacebook

It’s been a particularly brutal week for women on Capitol Hill, and Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii is sick of it.

Asked about the allegations against Kavanaugh on Tuesday, Hirono expressed deep frustrations with the entire Senate Judiciary process, accusing the White House of victimizing Christine Blasey Ford, Kavanaugh’s accuser.

“I think we all know when something is unfair. When something smells. We all know this. Let’s face it: This is so patently unfair to her. What really bothers me and gets me so angry is that the White House is victimizing this person […] Why should we participate in a victimization who has the courage to come forward? And she is under absolutely no obligation to participate in a smearing of her and her family.”  Read more…

Brett Kavanaugh snubs Parkland victim’s father at Senate confirmation hearing

TwitterFacebook

Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee got off to quite a raucous start on Tuesday. There were protests and clashes between Democratic and Republican senators, but it was an odd snub made by Kavanaugh that’s getting the most attention.

As Kavanaugh left his table upon the beginning of a lunch break, a man can be seen approaching Kavanaugh and extending his hand for a handshake. After a brief look, Kavanaugh turned and walked away, never shaking the man’s hand.

Wow, here’s Kavanaugh giving @fred_guttenberg a contemptuous look before turning his back on him. Guttenberg’s daughter was killed in the Parkland gun massacre pic.twitter.com/Fz9e0gwytv

How to take part in ‘Unite for Justice’ protests and #StopKavanaugh

Since the day President Trump announced conservative judge Brett Kavanaugh as his Supreme Court nominee, liberals argued that giving him a lifetime appointment would be a terrible mistake. On Sunday, August 26, they’re taking their case to the street…

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s brutal education in net neutrality

DC Circuit Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh has been nominated for the position of Supreme Court Justice, and on this occasion I think it warranted that we revisit in detail the sound intellectual thrashing this man suffered at the hands of his colleagues just last year on the topic of the internet and net neutrality. Because Kavanaugh was very, very wrong then and gives every indication that he will take his ignorance unapologetically to the highest court in the land.

Trump’s SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh looks exactly like Glenn from ‘Superstore’

TwitterFacebook

Donald Trump is obsessed with television ratings, so it makes perfect sense that he’d choose a SCOTUS nominee who strongly resembles an actor, right? Right.

Cut to Monday night, when Trump picked Judge Brett Kavanaugh to take the seat of Justice Anthony Kennedy, who announced his retirement from the Supreme Court in late June.

Some immediately saw Kavanaugh as the man who could help overturn Roe vs. Wade, but others saw Glenn Sturgis — the manager of Cloud 9 on NBC’s Superstore, played by actor Mark McKinney.

Are we sure that Brett Kavanaugh isn’t really Glenn Sturgis from Superstore? @AmericaFerrera #superstore #bothreadthebible pic.twitter.com/5ItLvfrChI

Stephen Colbert played a little bingo game for Trump’s Supreme Court pick

TwitterFacebook

Stephen Colbert played a little game or two watching Trump’s nomination for the U.S. Supreme Court.

During Tuesday night’s monologue on The Late Show, Colbert revealed his winning “Trump nomination bingo” card, after the president named Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace Anthony Kennedy.

Pulling the card from of his pocket, Colbert said, “You see, all the squares say ‘white guy’.”

After calling Kavanaugh a “cover model for Generic Dads Monthly,” Colbert said he also played a drinking game during the nomination event.

“I had a little drinking game, I would pour myself a drink every time my glass was empty.”  Read more…
