Chance the Rapper calls out troll’s ‘hyperbolic racist comparisons’ on Twitter

TwitterFacebook

It should be clear at this point that you sign up for a public shaming when you’re rude to celebrities on Twitter.

And yet, we still have folks like Joey, a Twitter rando who on Tuesday paid the price for going after Chance the Rapper.

The exchange began over Chance’s commentary on a CBS LA story about men who wonder if it’s still OK to hug women in a post-Weinstein world. (His succinct take: “Gross. Don’t.”)

It escalated from there:

Chance The Rapper finally gets the recognition he’s been waiting for, thanks to the Chicago Bulls

TwitterFacebook

Anyone who’s ever heard of Chance The Rapper should know his occupation. I mean if you pay close attention to his name, you should get it pretty easily.

However, about three weeks ago at a Knicks vs. Cavaliers game at Madison Square Garden, someone felt that it was necessary to stress what he does for a living by adding a pretty obvious and redundant caption when he popped up on the big screen—”Chance The Rapper, rapper.”

Chance the Rapper wants this holiday song to make him the Mariah Carey of Thanksgiving

TwitterFacebook

In the spirit of giving, Chance the Rapper wants to make a truckload of money from a hit holiday song. Won’t you please help him?

In his first act as the host of Saturday Night Live, Chance dedicated a new song to the “outcasts and weirdos” in every family this holiday season — like Leslie Jones’ Aunt Shevonne, whose purse gun makes everyone uncomfortable.

Like the best SNL monologue songs, this one involves just about the full cast. Chance also decided to throw in some live turkeys, to show he’s not taking this lightly.

You’ll help Chance make millions of dollars off of this one song about a holiday, won’t you? Read more…

Chance the Rapper performs hilarious song on ‘SNL’ begging President Obama to return

TwitterFacebook

“This time of year I get thankful baby, thankful for you. But now you’re gone and I don’t know what to do.”

What an emotional love song. A tribute to a great relationship after a bad breakup. Some girl somewhere is going to be really sorry she ended things with De-Von-Tré, the hot new combo comprised of SNL’s Kenan Thompson, Chris Redd, and guest host Chance the Rapper.

“So come back, Barack.”

Or, what? Yeah.

The world is on the verge of nuclear war, and former president Barack Obama is out here living his Best Life. We’re here crying ourselves to sleep, and he’s water skiing and showing us how in love with Michelle he is, and everything sucks. Read more…

Google backs music startup to help make more Chance the Rappers

Imagine you’re in the market for a new pair of shoes, and you hear your favorite artist playing in the background of an online ad.

Coincidence? Maybe not in the future. Launched out of stealth mode Wednesday by record label veteran Steve Stoute, United Masters is tying together artists and brands in the hope of driving more attention and sales for both groups.

And cutting out labels in the process.

“Brands are spending hundreds of millions of dollars trying to get to young people by using music as the vehicle,” Stoute told the Wall Street Journal. “Being able to use music data and making it actionable so they can target and speak to these fans, that’s super important.”   Read more…
