Ominous, high-hanging icicles have turned Apple’s sleek, MacBook-inspired waterfront store in Chicago into a potentially perilous environment.

Apple has cordoned off, with caution tape and signage, vulnerable areas where the sharp ice could fall. Chicago blogger Matt Maldre first spotted the architectural mishap, brought on by this winter’s severe Arctic blast.

Chance The Rapper finally gets the recognition he’s been waiting for, thanks to the Chicago Bulls

TwitterFacebook

Anyone who’s ever heard of Chance The Rapper should know his occupation. I mean if you pay close attention to his name, you should get it pretty easily.

However, about three weeks ago at a Knicks vs. Cavaliers game at Madison Square Garden, someone felt that it was necessary to stress what he does for a living by adding a pretty obvious and redundant caption when he popped up on the big screen—”Chance The Rapper, rapper.”

Turns out Barack Obama can make even jury duty look fun

TwitterFacebook

Barack Obama has done the unthinkable: given millions of people FOMO over not serving jury duty.

And even though everything about jury duty — from the boring AF intro video to the hours of waiting in uncomfortable folding chairs surrounded by strangers — is often dreaded, TBH, jury duty looked totally lit with Obama there.

Obama was reportedly called to serve in late October at Cook County, where he’s registered to vote. It’s impeccable timing considering he and Michelle recently hosted The Obama Foundation Summit in the good old windy city. Read more…

Born in Chicago in 1946, Wayne Sorce studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and went on to have a distinguished career in photography.

In the 1970s and ‘80s, Sorce explored the urban landscapes of New York and Chicago with his large format camera, making precisely balanced compositions of color, geometry, and light that also recorded the era’s particular styles of signage, advertising, and automobile design.

Wayne Sorce: Urban Color, an exhibit of cityscapes by Sorce and his contemporaries, is on display at Joseph Bellows Gallery in La Jolla, California through Nov. 30. Read more…
