Michael B. Jordan cringes while watching footage of himself taking a real punch from a boxer

Acting usually means pretending — but not always. Sometimes it gets a whole lot more real than that.

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Michael B. Jordan spoke about the time he took an actual punch from boxer Tony Bellew while filming Creed.

“In the Rocky films, it’s like a badge of honour to take a real punch,” explains Jordan. “And when you do slow-mo shots, you can’t fake it.”

Looking at the clip, it’s pretty clear nothing was faked. And Jordan definitely deserves that badge. Read more…

‘Venom’ just passed ‘Wonder Woman’ at the global box office

As if to prove there’s no justice in the real world, Venom is on track to overpower two previous superhero box office titans — and possibly become one of the most profitable movies of its ilk.

After reaching $822 million in total global earnings over the weekend, Venom has eclipsed both Wonder Woman‘s $821 million and Spider-Man‘s $821 million. 

This might be cause for confusion and concern among superhero movie fans, since Venom received quite, uh, “mixed reviews” from critics and audiences alike.

Yet it’s still projected to become one of the most profitable big budget superhero movies yet after accounting for both its production budget and its gross earnings, according to Forbes. Read more…

Having starred in two Creed movies and probably endured some pretty rigorous physical training, Michael B. Jordan is pretty quick on his feet — and fast with his hands. 

On The Late Late Show, Jordan demonstrated to host James Corden just how quick he can actually move them.

In a game of good old try-to-slap-my-hand-before-I-move-it-away, Jordan beat a shrieking James Corden pretty convincingly.
