Since the beginning of this exasperating year, there have been many, many debates on social media.

From politics to social justice, none have been more demanding than the infamous controversy on whether or not pineapples belong on pizza. 

Now, a new contender has surfaced sending Twitter users into an all-out frenzy.

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd (née Abel Tesfaye) have called it quits according to People

The two had been dating since January 2017, when a photo of them canoodling outside of a restaurant surfaced. Throughout their relationship, they made several public appearances together, including the 2017 Met Gala.

“She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship,” People‘s unnamed source explained. “It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them.” Read more…

A lot of folks anticipated the indictment of former Donald Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort on Monday. But very few, if any, publicly predicted the (newly revealed) arrest of Trump foreign policy advisor George Papadopoulos.

Papadopoulos has pled guilty to lying to the FBI about his contact with people close to the Russian government. He was arrested in July and has since worked with a special counsel led by former FBI Director Robert Mueller. The counsel is looking into relationships Trump and his associates may have had with Russian government officials.

All of these words are euphemisms for one thing: menstruation. So why can’t we just use the word menstruation instead of all of this period slang? Well, there’s probably a lot of reasons we’re always looking for other words for period, ranging from everything from social pressures to the idea that the word menstruation is just a little bit hard to say. 

An international survey conducted by the health app Clue found that there are more than “5,000 different slang/euphemistic expressions and phrases for periods: from the gentle English ‘Aunt Flo,’ to the dramatic French ‘Les Anglais ont debarqué’ – ‘the English have landed.'” Read more…
