Bumble launches digital snooze button that lets you take a mental health break

Our phones are a never-ending stream of noise. 

The relentless stream of notifications, alerts, and messages can make you feel like you’re on the receiving end of a barrage that just won’t stop. 

Bumble has introduced a tool that might help to abate some of that noise — at least the noise coming from your matches. 

Enter “Snooze” — a new feature which lets you pause your activity on the app. Not only that, the tool also includes “options for prioritising mental wellbeing, digital detox, or holidaying.”

Though women named Alexa the world over are likely over the Amazon Alexa jokes, one Tinder user  still managed to squeeze one in during a DM conversation.

Reddit user u/weedlewarrior69 shared a conversation with a recent Tinder match named Alexa, in which they decided to take a shot at a classic Amazon joke—a fairly common occurrence these days. 

U/weedlewarrior69 asked Alexa how likely it was that she would “unmatch” in response to a joke about Amazon’s AI assistant, to which she replied: “Very likely.” This prompted the response: “this is so sad alexa play despacito”—a reference to one of the best memes of the year thus far. Read more…

This is Ode To…, a weekly column where we share the stuff we’re really into in hopes that you’ll be really into it, too. First up: Blind dates on camera.

Throughout my tenure as a YouTube connoisseur, I’ve cycled through plenty of content — but there are only so many vlogs, old celebrity interviews, and beauty tutorials one can take in before turning into a pile of mush.

There’s one type of video, though, that still makes me click: videos of folks going on blind dates. My ice-cold heart melts whenever I settle in to watch two strangers meet. I stay glued to the screen, just in case this couple falls in love before my eyes. Read more…
