Rose McGowan on Harvey Weinstein: ‘Everybody knew. I know that.’

Actress, activist, and author Rose McGowan stopped by Good Morning America on Tuesday to discuss everything from “The Monster” Harvey Weinstein and her love of Twitter, to her memoir, Brave, which was released today. 

The actress, who reached a settlement with Weinstein in the late ’90s, is one of dozens of women to accuse the producer of sexual misconduct. 

Since that damning New York Times report was published in October, McGowan has been very vocal on Twitter — both in criticizing the entertainment industry for a lack of action over the years and in empowering women to speak out about their own experiences. Read more…

James Franco accuser tells ‘Good Morning America’ she just wants him to apologize

Two of the five women accusing actor James Franco of sexual misconduct spoke to Good Morning America Tuesday about their experiences with him. Sarah Tither-Kaplan recalled specifics of Franco allegedly abusing his position of power as an instructor and blurring lines with sex scenes.

“A lot of the times they seemed gratuitous or exploitative,” she said.

Additionally, Violet Paley had a message for the Disaster Artist director: “Please just apologize,” she said.

When the women first shared their stories with the Los Angeles Times, Tither-Kaplan noted that Franco had reached out to her in October to apologize for making her uncomfortable with the aforementioned nude scenes. Read more…

Blinking white guy from ‘Blinking White Guy’ meme speaks out on ‘GMA’

The “Blinking White Guy” GIF was one of the most popular (and saltiest) memes out there in 2017. And now, the blinking white guy himself has emerged for an interview on Good Morning America.

Okay, maybe “emerged” is a strong word. Scanlon, a video producer and podcaster for the video game website Giant Bomb, has been around the internet for a while. But this year — a year during which people were constantly incredulous — that blinking GIF caught fire even outside the gaming community.

“We don’t really have a way of communicating body language over the internet … memes are kind of that,” Scanlon says in the interview. He also supplies a few of his now-trademark blinks — which are pretty different from the original, to be honest. Read more…

Chrissy Teigen isn’t keen to share the birthday spotlight with another, uh, celebrity

Birthdays are awesome. You get presents, eat cake, and best of all, every last bit of attention is directed toward you for the entire day.

However, apparently that’s not the case when you’re a celebrity who shares the birthday spotlight with other celebrities.

That seems to be the case for Chrissy Teigen whose birthday is today, Nov. 30 — a date that also happens to be birthday of Mr. Krabs. Yep, the one and only, SpongeBob SquarePants’ boss.
