It was the heart-wrenching highlight of a pretty hum-drum Emmys — a live proposal.

When Glenn Weiss landed the Emmy in Directing a Variety Special at the Oscars this year, he surprised the audience — and particularly his girlfriend Jan Friedlander Svendsen — by popping the question during his acceptance speech. Guys, she said yes.

So Kimmel tracked the newly engaged pair down for a chat. Sitting in bed, Champagne in hand, they look a tiny bit awkward, but adorably psyched.

Weiss, being the guy who gets the band to play off Oscars winners whose acceptance speeches run too long, said he was pretty worried it was going to happen during his proposal. Luckily, it didn’t. Read more…

Kanye West appeared to be rendered speechless when Jimmy Kimmel asked him whether Donald Trump cared about black people. But he’d like to clarify that, no, he was just giving it some thought!

West’s Thursday interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live concluded somewhat strangely after Kimmel posed the question: West did not answer, then Kimmel abruptly announced a commercial break. (Trump was into it, though. Always a great sign.)

So on Saturday night, West attempted to clear the air with a few tweets.

Upon hearing that Han Solo’s jacket from The Empire Strikes Back is up for sale for a mild $1.3 million, Mark Hamill made a surprise appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to hawk off his pants.

He’s only asking for $100,000, which is a relative bargain compared to other Star Wars memorabilia that’s on sale. There’s only one problem though. Hamill’s never worn those pants in a Star Wars film — or so you’d think.
