When Han Solo died towards the end of The Force Awakens in 2015, it was a blow to fans’ hearts. But it was also to be expected.

Harrison Ford had been agitating for years for his scoundrel smuggler to be killed off in a way that would “bring some weight to this thing.” Ford was so cranky about the role that made his career, it was almost a mercy killing. Read more…

This trailer re-imagines ‘Star Wars’ with a green-skinned Han Solo and a female lead

In a parallel universe, in a galaxy far, far away, Han Solo is green-skinned with gills, Stormtroopers brand lightsabers, and the main character is a heroic young girl named Luka Starkiller.

In their own words: Rian Johnson and Mark Hamill on Luke’s journey in ‘The Last Jedi’

Columbia unveiled incredible ‘Star Wars’ coats inspired by ‘The Empire Strikes Back’

TwitterFacebook

Remember that time Luke Skywalker got so cold on Hoth he had to carve out that poor Tauntaun’s guts and sleep inside its carcass just to stay warm.

Well, what if you could wear a coat similar to his?!?!?

That’s pretty much what clothing company Columbia is trying to do with the release of three new coats all inspired by Episode V of the original Star Wars trilogy.

Mark Hamill once made a child’s dream to meet Luke Skywalker come true

TwitterFacebook

Star Wars: The Last Jedi may be coming out Dec. 15, but let the real Luke Skywalker bring you to tears right now.

Screenwriter Ed Solomon shared a story Monday about Mark Hamill meeting a terminally ill child and giving him the chance to finally meet his favorite Star Wars character.

In a short Twitter thread, Solomon told the very heartwarming tale.

WHY I WILL LOVE @HamillHimself FOREVER (THREAD OF 4):

When a friend’s son (who was, so tragically, dying from an incurable illness) made a wish: to meet Luke Skywalker, it fell on me — the only person the dad knew who worked in the film business — to make a call. 1/4

Being a Jedi is hard. After a long day of fighting bounty hunters, using the Force, and explaining to your friends that these aren’t the droids they’re looking for, you need to put your feet up and make yourself a stiff drink. But you can’t just make any old regular drink. No, you need something special. Something that tells the world “I have not succumbed to the Dark Side.” You need these Millennium Falcon ice molds.

Come on, of course Luke and Leia will reunite in ‘The Last Jedi’

TwitterFacebook

There are some questions that answer themselves the moment you ask them. Case in point: “Will Luke & Leia reunite?”

That’s the query gracing the main cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s special on the upcoming Star Wars sequel The Last Jedi, hitting newsstands Monday. The magazine doesn’t exactly answer this  question about the galaxy’s most famous twins — spoilers, sweetie! — other than to say there’s a “still a chance these two could find each other again.”

Given that this story was produced with the total cooperation of Lucasfilm, among other pointers from the trailers, we’ve got a very good feeling about their chances.  Read more…

Luke going back to the Millennium Falcon will give every nerd the feels for years

TwitterFacebook

No matter what else happens in The Last Jedi, we now know it contains the moment every fanboy and fangirl has been waiting to see for years: Luke Skywalker re-entering the Millennium Falcon.

The scene dropped Wednesday night in a re-edited version of last month’s first full trailer. Luke is seen walking into the famous Falcon cockpit, a place we haven’t seen him — shockingly — since the original 1977 Star Wars, latterly called A New Hope. (Yes, he came aboard the Falcon after falling down a giant tube in Cloud City, but not in anything more than a delirious state).
