So your parents want to get stoned. First of all, and let’s all say it together, hell yeah.

However, and this is the tricky part, it’s been a while since they’ve smoked marijuana — if they ever smoked at all — and the weed landscape has changed radically over the last few decades. Thankfully, you, their loving child, are 100 percent here for them. It’s time to answer the call and help your parents get appropriately ripped.

But, where to start? You don’t want to take it too fast and end up scaring them off. And there are some real, albeit manageable, concerns. You know, the Maureen Dowd effect. Read more…

Pass the poutine: Weed is now legal in Canada and everyone’s celebrating

TwitterFacebook

At the stroke of midnight on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, the great people of Canada turned over a new leaf, becoming just the second country to legalize marijuana (Uruguay being the first).

In legalizing weed, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made good on a campaign promise and the move is expected to result in the injection of billions of dollars into Canada’s economy, including from U.S. cannabis tourists.

Canadian job seeker interest in the cannabis industry continues to surge. After a temporary spike following the June 20th legalization announcement, searches containing cannabis-related terms have climbed even further through the end of last weekpic.twitter.com/GTL6sPwbMc

A restaurant in Maine is trying to get lobsters high before cooking them alive

TwitterFacebook

Welp, it looks like a restaurant in Maine is trying to get lobsters high before cooking them.

The owner of Charlotte’s Legendary Lobster Pound  restaurant, Charlotte Gill, recently revealed the restaurant has attempted to get their lobsters stoned in an effort to make their deaths at her eatery more humane, according to the Mount Desert Islander.

“The animal is already going to be killed,” Gill told the Islander. “It is far more humane to make it a kinder passage.”

Gill concocted a, uh, interesting method of getting her lobsters high. Here’s an excerpt from the Islander that details her first attempt at smoking up a crustacean — a lobster she calls Roscoe: Read more…

OK, everybody: Stop pot-shaming Elon Musk

TwitterFacebook

Last night, a man took a relaxing hit off a joint. Or, to put it another way for readers in California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Alaska, Nevada, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, and the District of Columbia: It was a Thursday.

The man happened to be Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX. The joint — technically a spliff or blunt, as it was marijuana mixed with tobacco — happened to be proffered by comedian and wrestling commentator Joe Rogan, who was streaming his show live from the state of California. “It’s legal, right?” asked Musk as he took Rogan up on his offer.
