McDonalds flipped its golden arches for International Women’s Day and received a torrent of Twitter burns

The Quarter Pounder would like women to know he cares.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, McDonalds decided to offer paid maternity leave flip their brand logo upside down, turning the infamous “M” into a “W.” The “W” stands for women.
It’s what…

McDonald’s attempts to pander to youth with very confusing meme

TwitterFacebook

Ah, McDonald’s. You give us so much: cheap, quick fast food, all-day breakfast, and disastrously failed attempts at memes.

In what has to be the most pandering attempt to cater to the youth we’ve seen in a while, McDonald’s UK tweeted this, uh, “meme.”

Him: Meet me at McDonald’s?
Barber: Say no more, fampic.twitter.com/Up7lkDqwPq

— McDonald’s UK (@McDonaldsUK) February 22, 2018

The limited context (the use of the word “barber”) makes it seem likely that this is supposed to be a play on the Barber meme, also known as the “say no more fam” meme, which pokes fun at ridiculous haircuts. Read more…

McDonald’s ruins Happy Meals by taking cheeseburgers away from kids

TwitterFacebook

Road trip lunchtime will never be the same.

On Thursday, McDonald’s announced the removal of cheeseburgers from its Happy Meals, as well as smaller french fry serving sizes and reformulated chocolate milk.

Today, we are announcing our new 2022 global #HappyMeal goals. Over the next several years, we’ll be focusing on nutrition criteria, simplifying ingredients, transparent nutrition information, recommended food groups and responsible marketing: https://t.co/zH5VYViyld pic.twitter.com/M4wIhDYXc3

— McDonald’s (@McDonaldsCorp) February 15, 2018

The idea, allegedly, is to decrease the amount of sodium, sugar, calories, and saturated fat in meals promoted to children, but that didn’t mean the internet accepted the changes quietly.  Read more…

This guy kept taking pictures after his little brother started choking and the results are wild

TwitterFacebook

If someone started choking while you were doing a  photoshoot, you’d keep taking pictures, right?

Well, maybe not. But that’s exactly what photographer @TheRealAbdayy did during a recent photoshoot when his little brother started choking in the background. He decided to keep documenting, and regardless of what you think of his decision, the results are really something.

Quit everything, ‘Chicken nugget taste-tester is now a job you can have

TwitterFacebook

The British retailer B&M posted a job application recently to…wait for it…be a “chicken nugget connoisseur.”

Cancel everything and buy a plane ticket for the next flight to Merseyside? I don’t know where that is, but I’m in.

The experience listed on the application is the best part:

I for one will vouch for curly fries over chips until my dying day.

The catch? You’re only paid £25 (or about $34) per month. And it’s in vouchers to spend at B&M stores. But it’s fine. It’ll be fine!

If you’re ready to make your dreams come true, you can apply here.

Wendy’s hits McDonald’s with sick burn after Black Friday Twitter fail

TwitterFacebook

Black Friday: McDonald’s isn’t lovin’ it. In fact, they just got served — by another hamburger chain.

If you missed the drama on Thursday, the person who runs the McDonald’s Twitter account made a very public mistake.

Black Friday **** Need copy and link****

The next day, one of the company’s rivals decided to go for the jugular.

When the tweets are as broken as the ice cream machinehttps://t.co/esdndK1iFm

— Wendy’s (@Wendys) November 24, 2017

Cold. Blooded. Like a French fry dipped in a creamy Frosty. Back in 2015, complaints about broken McDonald’s ice cream machines were so common, they became a meme. Some dissatisfied customer even made an app to keep track of which machines were actually working.  Read more…

McDonald’s just posted the ultimate Black Friday Twitter fail

TwitterFacebook

For big name brands like McDonald’s, it’s crucial to get your marketing and promotion spot on — especially on big holidays.

Mistakes do happen, though.

On Friday morning, the official @McDonaldsCorp account posted what we’re guessing was probably a scheduled tweet. The idea was clearly to promote some kind of Black Friday offer.

Unfortunately, things didn’t quite go to plan.
