The New York Times has “all the news that’s fit to the print” — and all the ad spreads too.

Gun control groups Everytown for Gun Safety and Mom’s Demand Action for Gun Sense joined forces and purchased a two-page ad in the New York Times on Wednesday, listing the name of every politician in Congress who has received money from the NRA as well as their phone numbers.

Did the NY Times go too easy on Donald Trump?

TwitterFacebook

President Donald Trump gave an “impromptu” interview to the New York Times on Thursday and it’s as incoherent and self-aggrandizing as you might expect.

At the Grill Room at Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, the president and Times reporter Michael S. Schmidt talk about the tax bill, Russia, Hillary Clinton and North Korea.

A few key quotes:

  • “I know the details of taxes better than anybody. Better than the greatest C.P.A. I know the details of health care better than most, better than most.”

  • “I have absolute right to do what I want to do with the Justice Department.”

  • “I like very much President Xi. He treated me better than anybody’s ever been treated in the history of China.” Read more…

Vice Media may be hailed as millennial digital-media darling covering edgy, hip topics, but its workplace culture is out-dated and rotten, according to a damning New York Times investigation published Saturday.

Twitter blames human error after blocking a New York Times account over the weekend

Over the holiday weekend, The New York Times found that one of its Twitter accounts had been locked. @nytimesworld was frozen for a full 24 hours over an innocuous tweet about a story in which Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau apologized for the country’s treatment of indigenous school children. Twitter restored the account Sunday afternoon, apologizing to The Times “for… Read More

Stephen Colbert acknowledges the Louis C.K. accusations

TwitterFacebook

On the same day he was accused of sexual misconduct in the New York Times, comedian Louis C.Kcanceled his movie premiere and an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. It’s still unclear if and how Colbert and his late-night peers will handle the C.K. story; many of them worked with him closely or at least in the same circles.

But Colbert wasn’t about to pretend that nothing happened. He mentioned the Times story right out the gate to acknowledge C.K.’s absence on the show – and he did it in a segment about accused sexual predator Roy Moore. Read more…
