Eagles fans Venmo Bears kicker to thank him for missing field goal

TwitterFacebook

Philadelphia Eagles fans are flooding a Venmo account allegedly belonging to Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey — or someone with the same name — after Parkey’s missed 43-yard field goal attempt handed the Eagles a win during the NFL playoff game on Sunday night.

It was particularly excruciating for Parkey, who has been haunted by missed attempts all season. If there’s any solace here, it’s that it appears as if the kick was deflected by an Eagles player. But a miss is still a miss and this one was painful.

Eagles fans brought a coffin to a football game to ‘bury’ the Dallas Cowboys

TwitterFacebook

Fans of the Philadelphia Eagles were spotted on the morning of Nov. 11 transporting what appeared to be an actual coffin decked out with stickers commemorating the Dallas Cowboys, the Eagles’ opponents in the Sunday night game.

The message was clear: we will bury you.

The funny (if slightly morbid) gesture was captured by Steven Fisher, an NBC news reporter on assignment at Lincoln Financial Field.

Dunkin’ Donuts isn’t actually trolling Patriots fans, but it’s a nice thought

Imagine the shock of ordering an drink at a Dunkin’ Donuts in Massachusetts, only to receive it in an NFL-branded cup with an Eagles logo printed on the side.
That’s either a dream or a nightmare depending on how you feel about the New England Patrio…

‘The Daily Show’ reminds Trump why he shouldn’t piss off Philadelphia Eagles fans

TwitterFacebook

After President Trump disinvited the handful of Philadelphia Eagles who were still willing to visit the White House, you knew The Daily Show would have plenty to say on the matter, and Trevor Noah did not disappoint.

Bringing in jokes about both Trump’s inauguration crowd and the Cleveland Browns, Noah also took the opportunity to mock Trump’s fill-in celebration — the MAGApalooza where he seemed to forget the words to “God Bless America.” And, yes, the fact that the Eagles never actually kneeled for the anthem during the 2017 season came up, too.

But Noah really nailed it when he explained why Trump shouldn’t be messing with Eagles fans. Sure, he won Pennsylvania by a very narrow margin so he has little room for error. But, mostly, Noah wants us to remember: “These are the same people who almost burnt down their own city when they were happy.” Read more…

Eagles players drag Fox News for airing misleading photos of them kneeling in prayer

TwitterFacebook

The Philadelphia Eagles may have won the Super Bowl, but that doesn’t mean they’re without a feud. Several of their players are now taking Fox News to task for apparently misrepresenting images of them kneeling.

On Monday night, after the president “disinvited” the Eagles from the traditional Super Bowl champion White House visit, Fox News aired several photos of Eagles players apparently kneeling during a segment on the kerfuffle.

Trump cancels visit for the few Philadelphia Eagles who actually wanted to visit the White House

TwitterFacebook

President Donald Trump didn’t want to play with the Philadelphia Eagles, anyway. He canceled the White House visit from the Super Bowl champs — after most of the team said they weren’t going to show up.

The sudden, perplexing cancellation follows a proposed boycott from some members of the team over the president’s insistence that players and coaches stand during the national anthem.

According to The New York Times, White House officials noted that fewer than 10 team members were locked in to attend the event on the South Lawn on Tuesday. So, Trump decided to ditch the whole thing. Read more…

Kevin Hart got rejected at the Super Bowl, and the footage is hysterical

TwitterFacebook

Kevin Hart might have had the most fun out of anyone this Sunday.

The comedian, and Philadelphia native, was in attendance at Super Bowl LII, and he wasn’t afraid of having the time of his life—even if that meant making a fool of himself after the Philadelphia Eagles took home the trophy.

Thanks to some quick camerawork, the world got to witness Hart drunkenly attempting to make his way on stage with the team and the trophy. Only he wasn’t allowed through by security, and the rejection is hilarious to watch.

Philadelphia Eagles win Super Bowl, poles now being climbed

TwitterFacebook

It’s party time in Philly.

The Philadelphia Eagles ended a 57-year gap between championships by beating the New England Patriots on Sunday, claiming their first ever Super Bowl title.

When the Eagles won the NFC championship two weeks ago, the city descended into relative chaos as fans ascended Crisco-greased poles designed to keep them from doing so.

Ahead of the Super Bowl, police opted for hydraulic fluid (a.k.a. motor oil) as a deterrent.

Philadelphia pole climbers: meet your match tonight. As predicted, no Crisco on the poles. Instead, police are using hydraulic fluid. And it’s water resistant, too, they said, so this afternoon’s rain won’t make it any easier for you to climbpic.twitter.com/5GvI9BRhaQ

Amazon’s Alexa is rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl

TwitterFacebook

We’re just a few days away from the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots facing off in Super Bowl LII, and one of tech’s most famous gadgets has apparently already picked a side.

According to a little video making the rounds, Amazon’s Alexa, like most of America, wants the Eagles to dethrone Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Indeed, we confirmed the message on our own Alexa and her hot take on the defense — “I’m flying with the Eagles on this one because their relentless defense and the momentum they’ve been riding off their underdog status” — isn’t a bad one considering how the Jacksonville Jaguars managed to keep the Patriots in check for most of the AFC Championship game.  Read more…
