Roger Stone’s very lame Instagram meme may soon land him in jail

Roger Stone just can’t quit Instagramming.

Now it seems his inability to stay off the app may land him in serious trouble for violating a gag order in his current case stemming from the Mueller investigation. 

Stone posted the image in question to his Instagram stories on Sunday. It’s a play on the Disney classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit, except with Stone subbed in for the titular bunny. It’s an obvious joke, one so bad it deserves at least an eyeroll.

It was a big week in U.S. politics. Donald Trump’s temper tantrum-fueled partial shutdown of the government came to an end, for one. And Roger Stone, a longtime Trump ally and adviser, because the latest figure in the president’s orbit to be indicted.

I’m starting to think this Trump guy might have done some crimes at some point. But I digress.

Those two nuclear news items — the government re-opening and the fall of Stone — dominated an entire Weekend Update segment on Saturday Night Live. Inherently funny stuff. Trump is, of course, well-established as an incoherent idiot. And Stone… the facts of that guy’s life are absurd. Make sure you watch this one until the end. Read more…

Instagramming after you’ve been arrested is generally a bad idea, but when has that ever stopped Roger Stone?

The longtime Trump associate and dog threatener was indicted for witness tampering, making false statements, and obstruction Friday morning in connection with Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation. Less than four hours after his arrest, someone on Stone’s staff posted this image, complete with Who Framed Roger Rabbit? reference, to his personal Instagram:
