Trump claims it’s a ‘very scary time for young men in America’ and… NO IT IS NOT

TwitterFacebook

Less than a week after the world watched Christine Blasey Ford bravely testify against Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump took it upon himself to say it’s a “very scary time for young men in America.”

Obviously it is not.

He said this particularly offensive thing while speaking to reporters at the White House on Tuesday: “My whole life, I’ve heard you’re innocent until proven guilty. But now you’re guilty until proven innocent. That is a very, very difficult standard.”

President Trump: “It’s a very scary time for young men in America when you can be guilty of something that you may not be guilty of. This is a very difficult time.” https://t.co/SJWR7w1n2h pic.twitter.com/z5hQq8giLQ

Senator Jeff Flake faces emotional confrontation from survivors over his Kavanaugh vote

TwitterFacebook

On Friday morning, Senator Jeff Flake finally announced that he’d vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

The Republican from Arizona was previously undecided and was seen as one of the key deciding votes. His last minute decision was particularly heartbreaking for a group of sexual assault survivors gathered near his office, who proceeded to confront him in the Senate elevator and reveal their own stories of abuse.

Women confront Sen. Jeff Flake after he says he’ll vote yes to Kavanuagh: “That’s what you’re telling all women in America, that they don’t matter. They should just keep it to themselves because if they have told the truth you’re just going to help that man to power anyway.” pic.twitter.com/T7fSpyT69E

How to cope when the country is debating whether to believe Christine Blasey Ford

TwitterFacebook

The women of America who believe and support sexual assault survivors want a break. They want a reprieve from the attacks on Christine Blasey Ford, who was forced to recall excruciating memories of a high school sexual assault before the Senate Judiciary Committee — and the entire nation — on Thursday. They see themselves, or their mothers, sisters, daughters, and best friends, in Ford’s trauma and her tearful resolve.

They’re exhausted by the prospect that despite Ford’s credible testimony, Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is still likely to be confirmed by Republicans to a lifelong appointment — the same Republicans who required Ford to answer questions from a career prosecutor. At one point, Sen. Kamala Harris, a Democrat, reassured Ford by saying, “You are not on trial.” Nevertheless, it still felt that’s exactly what was happening to Ford. Read more…

After Trump lashes out, sexual assault survivors share #WhyIDidntReport

TwitterFacebook

Following days of *relatively* restrained behavior, President Trump unleashed an attack on Dr. Christine Blasey Ford Friday morning, accusing her of failing to report the alleged assault by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh when they were both teenagers.

Survivors on Twitter bristled at Trump’s tweetstorm. Using the hashtag #WhyIDidntReport, they explained their reasons for choosing not to report their own assaults.

“I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents. I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn  date, time, and place!” Trump wrote on Twitter. Read more…

Trump attacks Kavanaugh’s accuser in a string of despicable tweets

TwitterFacebook

President Trump has finally done the unthinkable — and yet it was somehow expected. Friday morning he took to Twitter to attack Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault.

Dr. Blasey has until now escaped Trump’s direct wrath — to the surprise of many. But by Friday Trump was no longer holding back. He’s come out expressing doubt as to the veracity of Ford’s claims and is continuing his ongoing defense of Kavanaugh.

Judge Brett Kavanaugh is a fine man, with an impeccable reputation, who is under assault by radical left wing politicians who don’t want to know the answers, they just want to destroy and delay. Facts don’t matter. I go through this with them every single day in D.C.

Cody Wilson, the face of 3D printed guns, was just charged with sexual assault of a child

TwitterFacebook

The face of the battle over 3D printed guns has some new legal trouble on his hands: the alleged sexual assault of a child.

Cody Wilson, the 31-year-old 3D printed firearm activist, was just charged Wednesday with the sexual assault of a minor that he met on SugarDaddyMeet.com in Austin, Texas. The underage girl recounted the encounter in an interview with Center for Child Protection counselors. While her exact age isn’t mentioned in the affidavit, the arrest warrant does say the victim is under the age of 17.

Court documents obtained by local ABC affiliate KVUE detail how Wilson met the underage girl in a Bennu Coffee parking lot in a vehicle with license plates that match the ones registered to Defense Distributed, the 3D gun group that Wilson founded.  Read more…
