Mark Hamill has regrets about ‘The Last Jedi’ (but not the ones you think)

TwitterFacebook

Mark Hamill has some regrets about Luke Skywalker’s fate in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But maybe not the ones you think.

Recently, Hamill said in an interview with SensaCine that the Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi – dark, brooding, pessimistic – was “not my Luke Skywalker.” The quote caught the attention of a lot of fans, including some who felt the same way.

It wasn’t the first time Hamill had voiced his doubts about Luke’s Last Jedi arc, either. Months ago, Hamill told Vanity Fair, “I at one point had to say to Rian [Johnson, writer and director], ‘I pretty much fundamentally disagree with every choice you’ve made for this character.'” Read more…

Mark Hamill’s tribute to Carrie Fisher will make you cry all over again

TwitterFacebook

It’s been exactly one year since the legend Carrie Fisher left us, and her on-screen brother Mark Hamill will never forget her.

The actor who plays Luke Skywalker tweeted a sweet and totally fitting tribute to the actress who played Princess Leia, and people responded with an outpouring of love and remembrance.

Slight spoiler alert for Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Adam Driver agrees with you that he’s looking good in The Last Jedi – at least, according to Rian Johnson.

People caught up with the Star Wars: The Last Jedi director to ask how the much-buzzed-about beefcake moment came about.

“Adam looks so damn good because he’d been training hardcore for the past six months for those fight scenes,” Johnson told the magazine. “I’m like, ‘Eh. He looks so good. We should put him up there.'”

Here’s how Rian Johnson feels about that ‘Last Jedi’ backlash

TwitterFacebook

Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson has responded to his film’s polarized responses, and while his remarks may not settle the debate, it turns out that’s not what he wants to do.

Johnson responded to a fan on Twitter by expressing that his intent was never to divide Star Wars fans, but that spirited conversations show the series is growing and changing – as are its fans.

The goal is never to divide or make people upset, but I do think the conversations that are happening were going to have to happen at some point if sw is going to grow, move forward and stay vital.

‘Last Jedi’ gets thumbs up from 89% of viewers, says new poll

TwitterFacebook

Get ready for a shock, internet veterans: the folks loudly complaining about the latest Star Wars movie represent a tiny vocal minority.

That’s according to a data from SurveyMonkey, revealed here exclusively to Mashable. An audience poll of 4,441 U.S. adults found that of people who’ve seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi, a whopping 89 percent either loved or liked it. (Loves and likes were evenly divided.)

Interestingly, the 89 percent figure stays the same whether respondents described themselves as a “big” Star Wars fan or a regular fan. Even among self-described non-Star Wars fans — whom, one presumes, must have wandered into the wrong theater — 81 percent loved or liked The Last JediRead more…

Poe Dameron’s space jewelry has a swoon-worthy romantic backstory

TwitterFacebook

Spoilers ahead for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Such is the magnetism of Oscar Isaac that we shipped Poe Dameron with basically anyone who shared screentime with him in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

But two movies into Poe’s story, we’re still waiting for him to get a clearly defined love interest. Apparently, so is he.

Observant viewers may have noticed the Resistance pilot sporting a ring on a chain around his neck. You can see it in the Last Jedi IMAX poster if you look real close:

My crush on Kylo Ren in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ has me rooting for the dark side

TwitterFacebook

This story is literally riddled with Star Wars: The Last Jedi spoilers. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, fellow Kylo crushers.

In a galaxy far, far away lives a bad boy villain with a hero’s heart who’s deeply misunderstood. His name is Kylo Ren—but his family calls him Ben—and I’d burn down the damn galaxy for him.

As I watched The Last Jedi, I found my erstwhile unshakeable loyalty to the Light Side of the Force wavering greatly. In Rian Johnson’s first instalment of the new trilogy, we see Kylo laid bare before our eyes. And, by the end of the movie, I was rooting for the dark side.  Read more…
