Cynthia Nixon celebrates #TransDayofAction with heartfelt Instagram post about her son

In honor of Trans Day of Action, Cynthia Nixon shared a touching Instagram post to celebrate her oldest child.
On Friday, the Sex and the City star — who’s currently running for governor in New York — shared a photo of her and her son Samuel, announcing that he’s transgender.
“I’m so proud of my son Samuel Joseph Mozes (called Seph) who graduated college this month,” Nixon wrote. “I salute him and everyone else marking today’s #TransDayofAction. #TDOA.”

“That episode for me I think is one of the most powerful episodes that will ever be seen on TV,” Queer Eye‘s culture guru Brown told Mashable. “First of all, usually when we see the first trans experience, we usually see it through the lens of a trans woman. In keeping with historical tradition, queer women have been noticeably less visible. There have been so few bright spots outside of Cynthia Nixon’s possible earth-shattering gubernatorial run. The federal agency had done so already a year ago, she says, when it rescinded an Obama-era guidance advising schools to allow trans students use of bathroom facilities that matched their gender identity.
