Tweetstorm defends millennials by comparing them to the raucous students of the 1700s

TwitterFacebook

Millennials are blamed for ruining almost everything these days. They’re held responsible for messing with the diamond industry, department stores, and even the U.Seconomy, according to various media outlets. Now they’ve been accused of coming for the classroom.

A recent article from the Times Higher Education written by an anonymous assistant professor accuses millennials of being unwilling “take responsibility” for their education.

From the Times Higher Education:

The lamest generation: I can’t teach millennials – they refuse to take any responsibility for their learning, says an assistant professor https://t.co/hOAWqTXpf3

Dog lovers bite back at op-ed calling dogs ‘parasites’

TwitterFacebook

An op-ed published by the San Diego Union-Tribune calling dogs “parasites” is getting a pretty bad reaction online. That’s probably because it’s a terrible take.

The first half of Chris Reed’s editorial — titled “Let’s be honest America: Dogs are parasites, not man’s best friend” — suggests that humans have doted on their dogs a little too aggressively. A fair point. The doggy spa services he references in the piece are probably wasted on our canine companions.

But then the piece takes a dark turn. Dogs, Reed argues, are “parasites” conning humans into feeding and caring for them with their adorable antics. To make this incorrect point, Reed references Stephen Budiansky’s 1999 Atlantic article “The Truth About Dogs,” which argues that various canine manipulation tactics are to blame for our love of these furry deadbeats.  Read more…

These screenshots of unread emails will fill you with horror

TwitterFacebook

There are two types of people in this world: those who live at inbox zero, and those whose inboxes are ruled by utter chaos.

People are sharing screenshots of their unread emails on Twitter and they’ll either fill you with horror, or make you say “same.”

Some people’s inboxes are so chaotic, they’re nearing the 100K unread email mark. Quite the achievement, tbqh.

Oh my days what happens when you hit 100,000 unread emails? I feel like it should unlock some magical powers or somethingpic.twitter.com/fnQcNlBdQ2

Marvel superhero pic inspires Twitter to post photos of kickass women in suits

TwitterFacebook

Like Marvel superheroes, women are all power, all the time, and can seriously obliterate a pair of shoulder pads.

Looking for an “afternoon pick-me-up,” MTV’s chief TV critic Inkoo Kang called out on Twitter for photos of women in suits on Tuesday, paired with a “gang’s all here” image of the kickass women of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kang wrote she was inspired by Thor: Ragnarok actor Tessa Thompson’s “boxy plaid.”

I need an afternoon pick-me-up. Please reply with your favorite pictures of women in suits. Tessa Thompson’s boxy plaid is my new lewkpic.twitter.com/eenusAX9wz
