TSA makes super WTF video of most unusual items confiscated in 2017

The most unusual find at the airport might just be the Transportation Security Administration’s video of confiscated items.

Curtis Robert “Blogger Bob” Burns, who works for the TSA, hosted the video list again this year and included his bizarre takes on why someone would want to fly with a face tenderizer, a deadly looking fidget spinner, or a rifle-shaped umbrella. 

The added graphics and sound effects enhance the experience — hear from Mr. Death himself, who left behind his scythe!

It’s a real list, however, with items like a creepy grenade animal sculpture actually found in someone’s carry-on at Albuquerque International Sunport. Read more…

Mice! Cockroaches! A display case for coins! If politicians asking for new toilet seats interests you, look no further than this year’s White House maintenance requests, brought to you by the Freedom of Information Act.

In 2017, officials sent in hundreds of service requests for modifications, repairs, and pest problems in the White House. (Remember, the White House is extremely old.) The vast majority of these are pretty run-of-the-mill — Mike Pence wanted a TV in his office, for example, presumably to watch old episodes of The 700 Club on silent — but they’re still a little fun to peruse.

Noel Gallagher’s band has a killer scissors player (someone who plays the scissors)

When most people see scissors, they think, “Ah, scissors, the things you use to cut.” 

When musician and former Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher sees scissors, he thinks, “Ah, scissors, the things you use to make beautiful British rock music.”

This way of thinking — this vision — would explain the scissor player (lead scissorist) featured in Gallagher’s band The High Flying Birds during a recent televised BBC performance.
