What the hell is up with those bizarre Fox News Apple alerts?

TwitterFacebook

It’s common knowledge that Fox News regularly downplays big news or ignores huge stories altogether if they doesn’t align with its core conservative beliefs. But something entirely weird and different is happening with Fox News’ trending Apple News stories.

Not only do they have nothing to do with the leading stories of they day, they often times they seem like they came from completely out of left field — and maybe even from outer space.

Even Fox News called out Trump’s latest lie

TwitterFacebook

President Trump has been pretty quiet on Twitter lately. Maybe he’s turned a corner? Maybe this is the presidential pivot? Maybe the White House staff hid his phone?

Well, he broke that illusion Thursday morning when he once again tweeted a blatant lie, one that is easily disproven.

Thank you for all of the nice compliments and reviews on the State of the Union speech. 45.6 million people watched, the highest number in history@FoxNews beat every other Network, for the first time ever, with 11.7 million people tuning in. Delivered from the heart!

NBC employees reveal chilling details of Matt Lauer’s alleged sexual harassment

TwitterFacebook

Details on the alleged inappropriate behavior leading to Today co-host Matt Lauer’s ouster from NBC have surfaced – including sex toys as gifts, coerced sex with female employees and the disturbing report that Lauer had a button under his desk that could lock the door to his secluded office from within.

NBC’s initial statement Wednesday cited one complaint from a fellow female employee dating back to the Sochi Olympics. But in a memo, NBC News chairman Andy Lack said that “while it is the first complaint about his behavior” during his 20 years at the network, “we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.” Read more…

Fox’s Shep Smith meticulously dismantled his own network’s beloved Clinton conspiracy

TwitterFacebook

Shep Smith has developed something of a reputation as an exasperated voice of reason at Fox News.

His network has pushed a conspiratorial link between Clinton Foundation donations and a deal supposedly approved by the State Department when it was led by Hillary Clinton. The conspiracy — as alleged by President Donald Trump — is that Clinton’s State Department handed over 20 percent of the United States’s uranium holdings to “Russia” in exchange for cash sent to the Clinton Foundation.

It’s a classic classic quid pro quo conspiracy that is…not true.

“The Clinton State Department had no power to veto or approve that transaction,” Smith says. “It could do neither.” Read more…

Election night? Not if you watched Fox News.

TwitterFacebook

Republican strategist Rick Wilson summed it up on Tuesday night, as elections in Virginia, Maine, and other states went broadly for Democrats.

Seriously. Fox is pretending this election isn’t happening.

— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) November 8, 2017

As Republicans suffered a variety of electoral setbacks—including a historic turn in the Virginia statehouse—Fox News chose to insulate its viewers, barely mentioning the evening’s events. The coverage stands as the best indication yet that Fox News has not only moved to embrace Trump but also to entirely coddle its viewership (Trump included) by moving beyond a conservative slant and into an entirely alternate reality when necessary.
