Even Fox News has turned on Scott Pruitt — but still he hangs on

TwitterFacebook

The long, tangled tale of Scott Pruitt — a pile of grift and corruption come to life — as head of the Environmental Protection Agency may finally soon be coming to an end. It won’t be because of a new scandal, but, rather, the fickle feelings of the folks on Fox News.

On Wednesday afternoon, as the nation tried to make sense of the EPA chief enlisting an aide with finding him a used mattress and helping him purchase a Chick-fil-A restaurant for his wife, a Fox News Twitter account blasted out this shot at Pruitt’s ongoing scandals. Read more…

Facebook is funding news programs from CNN, Fox News, Univision and others

Facebook has unveiled its initial lineup of news programming that will be airing in a dedicated section of Watch, the original video content initiative the social network launched last year. While these shows are being produced by outside media organizations, it’s actually Facebook that’s funding them. In a blog post, Head of News Partnerships Campbell […]

Eagles players drag Fox News for airing misleading photos of them kneeling in prayer

TwitterFacebook

The Philadelphia Eagles may have won the Super Bowl, but that doesn’t mean they’re without a feud. Several of their players are now taking Fox News to task for apparently misrepresenting images of them kneeling.

On Monday night, after the president “disinvited” the Eagles from the traditional Super Bowl champion White House visit, Fox News aired several photos of Eagles players apparently kneeling during a segment on the kerfuffle.

To the delight of ‘The Daily Show,’ not even Fox News could defend Roseanne Barr’s tweet

The whole saga of Roseanne Barr’s gross, racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a former aide of President Barack Obama, continues to unfold and, thankfully, we have the likes of Trevor Noah at The Daily Show to help us make sense of it all.
In this…

Facebook’s new ‘high-quality’ News Feed looks a lot like its old, low-quality News Feed

The new News Feed is here, but you’d be forgiven for not having noticed.

Fox News’ Shep Smith is hilariously over the Kanye West and Trump drama

TwitterFacebook

In case you missed the internet turning itself inside-out on Wednesday afternoon, Kanye West tweeted his love for Donald Trump and Donald Trump tweeted back.

It’s a messy situation, and Fox News star Shep Smith was positively ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ about it all.

When an exasperated Smith gets to the end of trying to suss it all out and can only say, “We’ll see what happens,” it feels like he’s speaking for a lot of us.

Of all the 2018 stories we’ve heard so far, this is the 2018-est. Read more…

Watch Laura Ingraham’s guest mock her for losing advertisers on live TV

TwitterFacebook

Laura Ingraham is having quite the no good, very bad 2018.

After the Fox News host felt compelled to complain about Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg for “whining” about receiving college rejection letters via Twitter in March, things got ugly.

David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it. (Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA…totally predictable given acceptance rates.) https://t.co/wflA4hWHXY

— Laura Ingraham (@IngrahamAngle) March 28, 2018

Ingraham received massive amounts of backlash for bullying a teenage survivor of a school shooting, and in addition to refusing her apology, Hogg asked his Twitter followers to contact Ingraham’s top advertisers to boycott. Read more…

Tim Draper wore a Bitcoin tie on Fox News because fashion is dead

TwitterFacebook

I’ll say this for venture capitalist Tim Draper: he is fully committed to the gimmick.

Appearing on the Fox News show of sentient bowtie Tucker Carlson, Draper donned a Bitcoin tie and big Bitcoin broach to discuss his plan to divide the state of California up into three separate states: Northern California, Southern California, and Bitcoinlandia California.

While the “Cal 3” plan is Draper’s big current initiative — he says the proposal has garnered enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot — Draper is a huge proponent of Bitcoin and has been for a while, having scooped up thousands of bitcoin seized from dark web marketplace Silk Road and auctioned off by the U.S. government.  Read more…

Jimmy Kimmel backs off Sean Hannity feud because there’s enough terribleness in the world

Sean Hannity doesn’t know when to stop.
The Fox News host went on a tear Friday after talk show host Jimmy Kimmel had skewered Melania Trump and her accent on his show Monday night. Hannity found this very offensive. That’s when his Kimmel “take-down…
