The human body can be a cornucopia of grossness. But somehow, that naturally lends itself to humor.

Overenthusiastic student shows up for job interview at Microsoft a month early

TwitterFacebook

This might make you just melt into the floor out of sheer secondhand embarrassment.

Laura MacLean, a 21-year-old student studying management and marketing in the UK, was exceptionally prepared for a job interview with Microsoft. She had an outfit ready, research done, and practice interviews with friends and family completed, according to BuzzFeed

She was so prepared, in fact, that she showed up to the Skype interview a full month early.

“I didn’t want to mess up my one chance,” MacLean told BuzzFeed. “And these types of chances don’t come around often with big tech companies like Microsoft.”  Read more…

I started baking bread to spend less time on the internet. It backfired.

TwitterFacebook

In October, I cracked.

I didn’t tell anyone that I’d reached a breaking point in my relationship with screens, and I didn’t try to use any of the many tools or tricks to cut back. Instead, I decided to pick up a new hobby, one that I foolishly thought would not involve the internet. After all, what could be more off-the-grid than learning the age-old art of baking bread?

I know, I know. Another tech-obsessed millennial ruining sourdough bread

I had the best intentions with my new hobby, but it was just easier to get started with an assist from the internet. I researched how to make my own starter  — the base of real sourdough bread — by turning to Google. After reading a dozen articles and watching some YouTube tutorials, I thought I had the basics down.  Read more…

Woman stuck in airport fights terminal boredom by making a hilarious dance video

TwitterFacebook

We’ve all been there — a missed flight or delay leads to hours of mind-numbing boredom in the terminal — unless overpriced food and stale air is your idea of a good time.

But Twitter user @katiemgould showed that with just a phone and some dancing feet, any flight delay can turn into a par-tay

After missing her flight and getting stuck in an Atlanta airport for 4 hours, she decided to kick up her shoes to the iconic hit, “You Make My Dreams,” by Hall & Oates.

She even included her cat, Bowie, in the hilarious shuffle. According to Twitter, he is her “favorite travel buddy” and a “precious baby angel boy”.  Read more…

Woman tries VR for the first time and gets a little too immersed

If you die in VR, you die in real life, right?

Obviously not — but this video shows that at times virtual reality can get a little too real.

You’ll want to watch to the end, trust us. Read more…

Marie Kondo memes imagine her as a bloodthirsty demon spirit

TwitterFacebook

Netflix star and sweet tidy-upper Marie Kondo can do no wrong — or so we thought.

Kondo can be found on screens and bookshelves everywhere, making people decide whether or not their earthly possessions spark joy. She’s a consistently calming, harmonious presence. Only Twitter could find a way to corrupt Miss Kondo and turn her into a cleaning demon.

We didn’t expect “Marie Kondo” and “gun” to be used in the same tweet this soon, but we’re also not surprised. Here, the victims speak:

Okay, we’re watching the Marie Kondo tidying show. She’s already crawled out of our tv and thrown all my DVDs out the window.

‘Game of Thrones’ fan recreates the intro using his daughter’s toys

TwitterFacebook

It’s the time of year when Game of Thrones fans, starved for fresh content, reach a new level of desperation. Yes, there’s new footage out and yes, the show is coming back this year, but we still have to wait four more months.

To keep the spirit alive, a fan named Matt Chojnacki resorted to recreating the entire intro using — wait for it — his daughter’s toys. We’ll give him props: Despite his kazoo accompaniment making our ears bleed a little, it didn’t necessarily sound worse than when we scream along to the song at the top of our lungs.

He also went all out with each kingdom’s construction, often including moving pieces just like the actual intro. If building elaborate scenes with Lego and My Little Pony toys becomes the next viral challenge, we certainly wouldn’t be upset about it. Read more…
