What do you give the man who swept the 2018 Grammy Awards?

Your kidney, of course.

Bruno Mars cleaned house at this year’s ceremony, taking home both Album of the Year and Record of the Year. While he was there, he also performed his hit remix of “Finesse” with first-time nominee Cardi B. Following his big night, Cardi jumped on Instagram to congratulate her friend and offer up an organ as a thank you to him.

“I want to thank you soo much! I don’t even know how,” she wrote on Instagram. “Maybe one day you’ll need a kidney…I got you,” she added.  Read more…

Here’s the U2 slam against Trump you might have missed at the Grammys

TwitterFacebook

U2 have made a career (and a lot of money) out of being political, and their performance at Sunday’s Grammy Awards was another shot fired in their current battle against U.S. President Donald Trump.

The band performed the new tune “Get Out Of Your Own Way” in a pre-taped segment from a barge with the Statue of Liberty in the background because Bono is no longer capable of subtly. And, at the end, Bono took to his bullhorn (again, subtly!) and proclaimed (at the 3:32 mark), “Blessed are the shithole countries, for they gave us the American dream.” CBS bleeped out “shithole” remark, but other networks re-aired the clip uncensored. Hillary Clinton read ‘Fire and Fury’ at the Grammys, this is not a drill

TwitterFacebook

Was it a weird moment? Sure was. Does it matter? Nope. Hillary Clinton was there.

Clinton made a surprise appearance at the 2018 Grammys, capping off a star-studded comedy sketch featuring the likes of Cardi B, Snoop Dogg, DJ Khaled, Cher, and John Legend. The premise? Fire and Fury spoken word auditions.

It was perfect. The assembled stars read passages from the book in their various public personas, ostensibly auditioning for the job of reading the audiobook. Clinton came in at the end, hiding her face behind the book at first (though we all knew it was her, right?). Read more…

Dave Chappelle kept ‘interrupting’ Kendrick Lamar’s incredible Grammy performance — and it was perfect

TwitterFacebook

We all know there’s such a thing as bad interruptions during live award shows, but Dave Chappelle showed us all how it’s done on Sunday night during the 2018 Grammy Awards.

During a charged performance from Kendrick Lamar that kicked off the ceremonies, the comedian popped out of nowhere to bless us all with quick quips and remarks throughout the powerful medley that Lamar delivered—and it’s safe to say people ate it up.

Lorde isn’t performing at the Grammys after all—and the reason will make you mad

TwitterFacebook

Per usual, the Grammys feature much-discussed performances from the biggest names in music—except this year, Lorde’s name won’t be discussed amongst other performers on Monday morning.

The New Zealand singer is up for Album of the Year alongside Donald Glover, Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars and Jay-Z, but according to reports from Variety, everyone nominated alongside her were reportedly asked to deliver solo performances from their nominated albums during the televised ceremony except Lorde.

Rather than perform from the critically acclaimed album Melodrama, Lorde reportedly was offered a chance to sing “American Girl” by Tom Petty as a part of a tribute to the late singer—and declined.  Read more…
