The best crossover couples that defy the boundaries of fictional universes

TwitterFacebook

It’s Summer Lovin’ Week here at Mashable, which means things are getting steamy. In honor of the release of Crazy Rich Asians, we’re celebrating onscreen love and romance, looking at everything from our favorite fictional couples to how Hollywood’s love stories are evolving. Think of it as our love letter to, well, love.

Here at Mashable, we believe love knows no limits — not even when it comes to the boundaries of existing in different canonical universes.

Sometimes characters deserve better than the potential suitors in their own fictional worlds. Other times, the chemistry would be so fierce that we refuse to let a silly obstacle like different IPs get in the way of fate. Read more…

There’s no antonym for “thirsty” in internet speak. But we need to make one up just to accurately describe the way these horribly mismatched couples left us as dry as the Saharan desert. Read more…

‘The Crimes of Grindelwald’ looks like it’s all about Dumbledore

TwitterFacebook

The title may be about someone else, but the full trailer shows that The Crimes of Grindelwald is all about Albus Dumbledore. The younger version of Harry Potter’s mentor (played by Jude Law) has a lot of power and baggage in the Fantastic Beasts sequel, and he’s the key to the events of this movie – and the future of the wizarding world.

The Crimes of Grindelwald catches up with The Young Dumble as a Hogwarts professor, teaching not Transfiguration, his erstwhile subject in the books, but Defense Against the Dark Arts. Defense is the most well-known Hogwarts subject, especially for moviegoers less familiar with J.K. Rowling’s books who Warner Bros. wants to rope in. Read more…

This ‘Queer Eye,’ ‘Harry Potter’ crossover meme will give you life, henny

TwitterFacebook

Accio non-horrible crossover!

The “If I was on Queer Eye” meme has come for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and I am here for it. The pure intentions of the Queer Eye cast mingles perfectly with the other worldly realm of Harry Potter. Your faith in crossovers will be restored and your heart will sing.

For those unfamiliar with the popular meme: it’s about visualizing what the Fab Five might say while giving you a makeover.

If I was on Queer Eye:
Bobby: Why do you have a framed picture of Monica Geller?
Karamo: your students are NOT your life
Jonathan: oh henny your brows.
Antoni: do you consume anything other than Diet Coke?
Tan: clothes that feel like pajamas aren’t really appropriate anymore.
