Henry Cavill loved ‘Aquaman’ so much he went for a swim with a fork

TwitterFacebook

While Henry Cavill’s first look as Geralt in the TV adaptation of The Witcher video game did not go down well, his Aquaman impression can stay.

The Justice League star posted a congratulatory Instagram to his superhero co-star Jason Momoa by channeling his box-office smash Aquaman

Cavill, who’s usually seen donning a cape as Superman in the DC Extended Universe films, instead took to a body of water — in what weirdly looks like the dead of night — capeless, Lycra-less, and wielding a fork as a trident.

“Channeling the man of the hour, the man of big hugs, big laughs and big pints of Guinness, my man Jason Momoa. How’d I do?” he captioned the post. Read more…

First teaser of Henry Cavill in ‘The Witcher’ inspires glorious memes

TwitterFacebook

Netflix dropped a Halloween surprise by releasing a very brief first look at Justice League star Henry Cavill in the TV adaptation of The Witcher video game.

But the real journey was not the 10 seconds of footage with no dialogue — it was the memes we made along the way.

Cavill has the thankless job of being the live-action embodiment of a video game character. Which, in the case of Geralt, means wearing the most 1995 Dungeons and Dragons wig you’ve ever seen on a human man.

The jokes came in hot, silvery, and with the accuracy of arrow to the face. Namely, in how closely he resembles Christopher Lambert from another video game adaptation, 1995’s Mortal Kombat. Read more…

Henry Cavill posts wildly cryptic Instagram response to ‘Superman’ rumours

TwitterFacebook

If you’ve been anywhere near the internet lately, you’ve probably heard the rumours that Henry Cavill’s days as Superman are over.

The question is, are they actually?

The answer to that one is tricky to pin down — and it’s been made even more confusing by Henry Cavill’s latest Instagram post, which the actor shared late Wednesday night.

Today was exciting #Superman

A post shared by Henry Cavill (@henrycavill) on Sep 12, 2018 at 4:23pm PDT

Yes, that is a video of Henry Cavill slowly raising a Superman action doll to the camera, not saying anything while music (specifically a version of The Blue Danube mixed with dog barking sound effects) plays in the background. Read more…

What’s going on with Henry Cavill’s beard in the ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ trailer?

TwitterFacebook

The trailer for Mission: Impossible – Fallout has been out for months, and somehow we all missed its most compelling component. We speak, of course, of Henry Cavill’s reappearing beard.

Henry Cavill’s beard is already a contentious pop culture topic, although that’s more on whoever removed his facial hair in Justice League than him. This time, an optical illusion or possibly a mistake in post-production seems to be at work — one that makes Henry Cavill generate a beard where, previously, there was none.

Please watch the GIF in the below tweet, which Michael Chu graciously shared on Monday. Warning: it’s weird as hell! Read more…

Henry Cavill is still answering for the mustache CGI in ‘Justice League’

TwitterFacebook

It may have seemed excessive for Mission: Impossible Fallout to ban Henry Cavill from shaving his now-infamous mustache for Justice League reshoots, but the actor assures us in a new interview that shaving was not an option.

“When we decided to go for the mustache, I certainly wasn’t expecting all the events to unfold as they were going to unfold,” Cavill told Empire.

He’s referring to the Justice League reshoots that necessitated CGI removal of said mustache and also gave the internet a lot of much-needed laughs. Read more…

Tom Cruise reacts to footage of his own ankle breaking in slow motion

TwitterFacebook

Fair warning — if the thought of watching someone’s ankle break in slow motion makes you feel a tad uncomfortable, you may want to look away now.

In the clip above from The Graham Norton Show, Tom Cruise gets replayed the footage of his ankle being broken during filming for Mission Impossible 6. There are several angles, and one features a slow-motion closeup of the ankle itself. Needless to say, it’s pretty wince-inducing.

What makes the whole thing seriously impressive, though, is the final angle — a front shot showing an injured Cruise grimly clambering onto the building to finish the stunt, despite the fact he’s just mangled one of his bones against a concrete wall. Read more…

Henry Cavill’s mustache was digitally removed in ‘Justice League’ and it’s laughably bad

While there has been plenty of criticism surrounding the new comic book flick Justice League, we need to talk about Superman’s upper lip.
Henry Cavill plays the role of Clark Kent/Superman in the film, a role which apparently called for a clean cut f…
