This is not a drill. Oprah just rocked up to Harry and Meghan’s wedding

TwitterFacebook

OK, deep breaths everyone. Deep, deep breaths. This is not a drill.

Oprah Winfrey — a.k.a. queen of the whole damn world— just rocked up at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. And, yes, nothing in life will ever measure up to this moment.

As guests begin to arrive at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, one or two familiar faces could be spotted among the throng of attendees.

Idris Elba and Oprah Winfrey arrived at the same time.

Oprah’s gift to Mindy Kaling’s daughter makes all other presents look like garbage

TwitterFacebook

So is Oprah this kid’s actual fairy godmother?

Minday Kaling was a guest in The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday night. She thanked Colbert for a present he and his wife sent for her new 2-month-old — a set of baby clothes.

However, Kaling revealed that all gifts pale in comparison to the present her Wrinkle in Time co-star Oprah sent.

Namely, an ornate wooden bookcase in the shape of a castle, packed with children’s literature and each book inscribed with “Katherine’s Book Club.” Read more…

Oprah surprised Tiffany Haddish, and she had the only reaction you could have

TwitterFacebook

It doesn’t matter if you’re a regular old fan or one the biggest names in Holllywood — if Oprah surprises you, you can’t help but cry tears of joy.

Ellen DeGeneres gave viewers a first-hand look at the power of Oprah’s presence by having her surprise Girls Trip star and Oprah superfan Tiffany Haddish.

As was to be expected Haddish lost any ounce of chill she arrived to the show with. She was sobbing, clapping, screaming, and even dancing at the sight of her idol.

Haddish then proceeded to blurt out all of her embarrassing Oprah-related secrets to prove the obsession is 100 percent genuine. We feel you, girl. Read more…

Oprah speaks with Reese Witherspoon and more on ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ about Time’s Up, and yup, we’re inspired

TwitterFacebook

While the rest of America quietly salivates over the phrase “President Winfrey,” Oprah herself is keeping busy with Hollywood’s Time’s Up campaign and the fighting for women’s equality in every workplace. Oprah spoke with some of Hollywood’s most powerful women after the Golden Globes about how best to champion women.

“How do we as a society have a mature, nuanced conversation about how men and women should be relating to each other?” Winfrey asked her colleagues on CBS Sunday Morning, which will air this Sunday. “Because there’s so many men and women now who are uncomfortable in their workplaces because of all that’s been uncovered and aren’t just really sure how to be. What do we say to them?” Read more…

‘The Boondocks’ predicted a 2020 Oprah presidency way back in 2006

TwitterFacebook

The Boondocks was ahead of its time in many ways. One of which seems to be in predicting an Oprah Winfrey presidency.

If you missed the cartoon — which ran for four seasons on mid-2000s Adult Swim and was based off of a comic of the same name — you missed a gem of societal commentary. You also missed some true precognizance when, in the 2006 episode “Return of the King,” Oprah is elected president in 2020.

Obviously, the early part of this week’s news has been dominated by Oprah’s stirring Golden Globes speech and the ensuing internet call for her to run for president.  Read more…

President Trump has some thoughts on Oprah running for president, and they’re almost coherent!

TwitterFacebook

Oprah may be running for president in 2020 — and, uh, even the Trumps are getting on board.

Last night, Ivanka Trump retweeted Oprah’s now-famous Golden Globes speech with enthusiasm and included the anti-sexual harassment #TimesUp hashtag (with no mention, of course, of her father’s accusers). Then on Tuesday, Trump expressed his own qualified enthusiasm for a potential Oprah run.

“Yeah, I’ll beat Oprah,” Trump told a room full of reporters. “Oprah would be a lot of fun. I know her very well. You know I did one of her last shows, she had Donald Trump as before politics, her last week and she had Donald Trump and my family. I like Oprah. I don’t think she’s going to run.” Read more…

Here’s the thing Oprah really needs to consider if she wants to run for president

TwitterFacebook

Talk of Oprah running for president in 2020 is ratcheting up, thanks to her powerful speech at the Golden Globes. Of course, that means the inevitable backlash is here too.

But if the media mogul has the fire in the belly required to run for president, she should run — and nothing anyone writes should dissuade her.

If she is truly prepared for the thankless slog of the Democratic primary process — endless corn dogs at Iowa cookouts, walking from house to house through the freezing slush of New Hampshire in January, being grilled with gotcha questions on foreign policy by newspaper boards and talk radio hosts coast to coast — then she’s ready. Jimmy Kimmel is all about Oprah in 2020

TwitterFacebook

Less than a day after Oprah’s powerful speech at the Golden Globes had everyone calling on her to run for president in 2020, at least one celeb known to get political, Jimmy Kimmel, is on board.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association (TCA) winter press tour, Kimmel said he had no plans to run for office himself and then addressed his pal amazing Oprah’s speech.

Noting the friendly audience Oprah got to play to, Kimmel indicated he’d be all about supporting an Oprah 2020 run — with one caveat. Read more…

‘She would absolutely do it’: Stedman Graham fuels hopes for Oprah’s unlikely presidential run

TwitterFacebook

Could Oprah Winfrey have just made the first speech of her political career? Not at all, but we can dream.

That’s what many people have decided on Twitter anyway, and Winfrey’s longtime partner Stedman Graham played along with their hopes.

This has all stemmed from Winfrey’s extremely moving speech upon accepting the Cecil B. DeMille award at this year’s Golden Globes. And while she didn’t explicitly say that she would run for president in 2020, many people are still pretty keen for her to do so. Read more…
