From tracking the elusive Bigfoot and surviving a year in fake Mars, to investigating ISIS and solving a 37-year-old murder case, these podcasts will leave quite the impression during your next morning trip to work or lengthy road trip.

Time seems to work differently when you spend your days online. The memes, moments, and scandals that feel like ages ago are often really only months, weeks, or even days in the past — and what was once unthinkable quickly transforms into how it’s always been. 

The General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR, only went into effect on May 25 of 2018, but by now the regulation has reached so far into the everyday life of the internet that it’s becoming harder to imagine a time before. So your parents want to get stoned. First of all, and let’s all say it together, hell yeah. 

However, and this is the tricky part, it’s been a while since they’ve smoked marijuana — if they ever smoked at all — and the weed landscape has changed radically over the last few decades. Thankfully, you, their loving child, are 100 percent here for them. It’s time to answer the call and help your parents get appropriately ripped.  

But, where to start? You don’t want to take it too fast and end up scaring them off. And there are some real, albeit manageable, concerns. Sure, recreational pot is legal in 10 states and the District of Columbia, but just because smoking a joint or eating an edible in one of those locales won’t land someone in the slammer doesn’t mean it doesn’t come with its own set of pitfalls. I don’t want a lot for Christmas. There is just one thing I need — and it’s that gigantic 552-carat diamond recently uncovered by Canadian miners.

Because this isn’t just your run-of-the-mill huge ass yellow diamond. The gemstone is actually the largest to ever be found in North American history, according to a press release by Dominion Diamond Mines

Coming in at 33.74mm by 54.56mm, this stocking stuffer blew the previous record out of the water, which was a 187.7 carat diamond found in the same mine back in 2015.  Read more…
