Talk about a data dump.
On Thursday, the House Democrats of the Judiciary Committee released a trove of Facebook ads that the Internet Research Agency — implicated as the digital organization Russia utilized to promote propaganda and fake news on the internet — published to “sow discord” in America. And the document cache is… enormous.
The ads posted between April 2015 and August 2017 amount about 8.8GB of data. That may not sound like a lot in 2018, where smartphones routinely have as much as 256GB of storage, but the documents are all simple PDFs. It takes a lot of PDFs of ads — 3,519, to be precise — to take up that much space. Read more…

Sentient moldy marshmallow Mike Huckabee is one of the worst things about Twitter, a free website where bots and angry men yell at each other for hours on end.
Yet he still manages to find new depths.
Such was the case on Tuesday when, in an attempt at what I assume is humor, the former Arkansas governor and shitty Skynyrd cover band musician managed to type and send the following tweet.

Nothing says cutting-edge digital badassery like a government cybersecurity task force, amirite?
On Tuesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the creation of a new, special cybersecurity task force aimed at combatting global threats and protecting U.S. elections from foreign interference. The unit is being called the “Justice Department’s Cyber-Digital Task Force.”
A DOJ-appointee will lead the group, and work with members from law enforcement and other government agencies to “canvass the many ways that the Department is combatting the global cyber threat.” Canvass, eh?

Okay, so we know Michael Flynn has entered a guilty plea for lying to the FBI and it spells bad news for Trump. The commander in chief has been very active on Twitter this week –maybe because he knew all of this was coming.
