Scott Baio denies Nicole Eggert’s sexual abuse claim in new interview

TwitterFacebook

Scott Baio brought his Facebook Live story to Good Morning America.

In a Wednesday interview, the Charles in Charge star pushed back against former co-star Nicole Eggert’s allegations that he molested her during their time together on the show, when she was still a minor. Much of what Baio said echoed a Facebook Live he posted on Sunday as Eggert’s story started to surface.

Baio had little to say in response to the more detailed accusations, such as Eggert’s account of what happened in the older actor’s garage when she was just 14. More generally, he stuck to flat denials of any improper activity, pointing to the abundance of potential witnesses on set — crew members, teachers, parental guardians — that would have made such behavior impossible. Gymnast Aly Raisman took out a full-page ad to thank everyone involved in the Larry Nassar trial

TwitterFacebook

The trial of Larry Nassar has ended, but the conversation about sexual assault and accountability continues on — in part thanks to the outspoken Olympic gold-medalist Aly Raisman.

In Lansing, Michigan, under the gavel of Judge Rosemarie Aquilina, the sexual abuser received a 40-175 year sentence for his horrendous acts of violence against over 150 women, many of whom gave statements in court during the week-long trial.

Raisman was among them, and she recognized her colleagues in a powerful way: a full-page ad in the Detroit Free Press thanking the victims by name (and by number, for those who did not want to go public). Read more…

Dylan Farrow expertly calls out Justin Timberlake’s hypocrisy by using his own tweet

TwitterFacebook

Justin Timberlake isn’t a stranger to controversy, so you would think he would know better than to walk right into a Twitter storm, but here we are.

The singer, who is busy promoting his upcoming album Man of the Woods, waded back into the pool of bad decisions after wearing a Time’s Up pin at this year’s Golden Globes, despite working with director Woody Allen, who has been accused of sexual assault by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow.

Farrow has been outspoken about the hypocrisy of Hollywood heavyweights who don’t walk the talk—or in other words, who support women who have endured sexual misconduct and yet continue to work with those accused of that very same misconduct. But just in case Timberlake wasn’t clear on how he is a part of the problem too, on Tuesday, Farrow responded to one of his tweets in an exchange that is *chef’s kiss* perfection.  Read more…
