With the exception of Finn, Stormtroopers are famous for being the faceless, pesky mercenaries that always induce chaos. They are good for nothing soldiers who can’t even hit their shots right. If you think about it, those bucket heads only exist to do all the dirty work for Darth Vader and be the cause of headaches for Luke, Leia, and Han Solo.

He never sought the spotlight, but the spotlight was almost thrust upon him.
Gary Kurtz, a quiet but friendly soul who died of cancer this weekend at the age of 78, was best known as the solo producer of Star Wars. If that groundbreaking, culture-changing film had won at the Academy Awards in February 1978 — and it came close to defeating Annie Hall in the ballot — then Kurtz alone would accept the Best Picture Oscar while George Lucas sat and clapped.
That would not have been inappropriate. Though Kurtz’s role has been somewhat diminished in official Lucasfilm history, it is undeniable that he guided the company’s three most influential and well-received films — American Graffiti, Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back — to their stellar success on the screen. Like Han Solo in the iconic cantina scene in Star Wars: A New Hope, we’re sorry about the mess. And we’re taking the shot first.
That’s right, folks, the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge park expansion to Disneyland is serving alcohol. We couldn’t imagine recreating the sleazy intergalactic dive bar filled with smugglers and bounty hunters any other way.
Disney made the welcome announcement on the park’s blog on Thursday, Aug. 30. The company also offered up some new concept art for the highly anticipated Black Spire Outpost expansion, which opens in 2019. Read more…

Doctor Who star Matt Smith is returning to the cosmos! Variety reports that the actor, most recently known for his role as Prince Philip in The Crown, has been cast in an undisclosed but “key” role in Star Wars Episode IX.
Knowing how well Star Wars loves to cast tall, posh-sounding British men as officers of the First Order, it’s entirely possible that he’ll join Domnhall Gleeson’s General Hux on the dark side of the galactic struggle — but there’s something to be said for playing against type. The first trailer gives us a taste of Kaz’s general vibe, as well as how he jibes with his de facto mentor: Poe Dameron (yes, that’s Oscar Isaac).
