In a twist that Westworld might actually be able to pull off, Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul is reportedly joining the cast of Westworld.

According to Deadline, HBO isn’t saying much else about his role — other than confirming that he will become a series regular. So you know what that means, Reddit: It’s tinfoil time.

In a show where robots can switch brains and characters can die only to then come back in new bodies, there’s basically no limit to how they can incorporate Paul into Westworld

Ever since Season 2’s ill-received season finale basically broke all rules of logic and narrative sense, we wouldn’t be surprised if Paul was actually Dolores, who was actually the Man in Black, who was actually in a virtual time loop making meth the whole time. Read more…

Westworld Season 1 felt like a magic trick.

The story flashed by in bits and pieces, misdirecting the audience’s attention while carefully obscuring that which was right in front of their eyes, only to reveal the truth — the gag, really — in a breathtaking finale.

Westworld attempted to do something similar in the show’s anticipated second season, but judging by the underwhelming final episode, the writers forgot a key part of how magic tricks work: They’re only effective the first time. If you perform the same trick twice in a row, what was magical is rendered pedestrian.

Especially if you, uh… kind of fuck it up on the second pass. Read more…

While some of the lingering questions of Season 1, like “what is the Maze,” “what happened to Elsie,” and “why do the welcome hosts insist on making guests pick a hat before they enter the park,” have been answered over the course of Season 2, each answered question has spawned several others. With the season finale of Westworld Season 2 approaching next Sunday, here are the questions the show will hopefully answer before the season’s end.  Read more…
