Nothing brings people together like a drama queen they can mock.

Earlier this week, Brazilian star soccer player Neymar made headlines when he suffered a mild injury he made to look like hellish torment.

Now fans around the world have started the #NeymarChallenge, designed to imitate the star player’s explosively theatrical injury.

Here’s the original video heard ’round the world.

In memory of Neymar lying on the ground at the World Cup

TwitterFacebook

Brazil’s Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior has become a highlight of the 2018 World Cup — not for his skills, but for his time spent lying on the pitch.

A study released this week revealed that Neymar has spent an impressive 14 minutes on the ground during the 2018 World Cup. His dramatic falls, slips, fouls, and spills have prompted countless memes, and have even inspired children to act out his most ridiculous moments.

In celebration of Neymar’s moments spent lying on the ground instead of playing, wasting away the world’s time, we have compiled some photos for your viewing pleasure. Read more…

Little French boy waves baguette at World Cup, help help, I’m dying

TwitterFacebook

Regardless of where you’re from, you’ve got to love a child who understands the value of carbs.

One little French boy demonstrated his national pride by waving around a beautiful golden baguette at Friday’s World Cup quarterfinal between France and Uruguay. France won the game, and Baguette Boy is quickly becoming an internet sensation.

If there’s one stereotype I learned from middle-school French, it’s that French people love baguettes — -with or without butter. Only Twitter understands how radical that is.  Read more…

These kids training to play soccer like Neymar in the World Cup all deserve an A+

TwitterFacebook

When you’re practicing your soccer skills, it’s important to cover all the basics: passing, tackling, dribbling, shooting.. and, of course, Neymar-ing.

Yep, that’s right, Neymar-ing. On Wednesday, YouTuber Soccerdrill shared a video of a group of kids “practicing ‘The Neymar'”. As you probably guessed, it basically involves instantly dropping to the ground and rolling around in the semblance of extreme agony.

Here’s the master himself, showing how it’s done:

Watch the exact moment the whole UK erupts in World Cup jubilation at England’s win

TwitterFacebook

You might not know this, but apparently it’s coming home. The World Cup, that is.

After a decidedly tense match, which had the entire nation teetering on the edge of its seat, England knocked Columbia out of the World Cup.

First of all, England has a terrible track record with penalties at the World Cup — they’ve never won any of their previous penalty shootouts in the competition. So, when it finally happened this time around, people were chuffed (to say the absolute least).

And, right on cue: the whole country erupted into a chorus of jubilation.  Read more…

World Cup presenter’s delirious reaction to England winning on penalties is everything

TwitterFacebook

It’s fair to say this year’s World Cup has produced some nail-bitingly tense games.

Tuesday night’s knockout match between England and Columbia has to be one of the most nerve-shredding so far, though.

Nobody summed up the sweet, sweet feeling of relief when England finally won on penalties better than pundit (and former England striker) Ian Wright.

Here he is in the studio, reacting to England’s final penalty:

That is what happiness looks like.

Love this country ❤️ Love this team 🦁🦁🦁 @GNev2 @LeeDixon2 @itvfootball pic.twitter.com/ZYzftSf96C
