‘Wonder Woman 1984’ footage debuts for the first time at Comic-Con in San Diego

TwitterFacebook

With a release date of Nov. 1, 2019, Wonder Woman 1984 is sadly a long way off.

But fans lucky enough to be at Warner Bros.’ Comic-Con panel Saturday were treated to a little taste of the amazingness to come.

The exclusive Comic-Con footage opens in that most ’80s of settings – a brightly lit shopping mall – where Wonder Woman comes leaping in, landing in front of two menacing-looking men with guns.

A kid spots her: “Oh my gosh!” she says, looking delighted. Wonder Woman looks around and sends the kid sliding across the floor into an enormous teddy bear. The kid just laughs. Read more…

Warning: Spoilers follow for Ant-Man and the Wasp.

By now, you know the drill: Never, ever leave during the end credits of a Marvel movie.

Like most of its brethren, Ant-Man and the Wasp has two scenes buried in the credits: one near the start, and another at the bitter end.

But just in case you did leave – or just in case you stuck around but aren’t quite sure what you just witnessed – here’s what you need to know about the end credits scenes of Ant-Man and the Wasp

How ‘Incredibles 2’ carves out its own space in a superhero-saturated world

In the 14 years since The Incredibles came out, superhero movies have exploded. Circa 2004, we got maybe two a year; in 2018, Incredibles 2 is the third such film within the past two months.
In that context, it’s easy to imagine Incredibles 2 getting…

Heavily pregnant woman dressing up for ‘Deadpool 2’ is the definition of maximum effort

TwitterFacebook

Deadpool may be one of the most inventively cosplayed characters of all time.

A photo uploaded on Saturday by Reddit user u/SolidAsSnake shot to the upper echelons of the site, because it showcased his wife’s passion for Deadpool.

We also got a peek at Pregpool’s outing to the cinema:

According to u/SolidAsSnake, the viewing was a success as they wrote, “UPDATE! Movie over. We loved it. She’s not in labor yet.”

Thank goodness, can you imagine if she’d hated it?

One ‘Deadpool 2’ character has a LinkedIn profile

TwitterFacebook

Deadpool 2 made a LinkedIn profile for Peter, and it’s got some Easter eggs for eagle-eyed fans.

It’s another promotional tool for the movie, which has been killing it on the marketing front – from that Céline Dion song to apologizing to David Beckham to partnering with Trolli for tiny gummy hands (they were delicious).

According to LinkedIn, Peter (Rob Delaney) is a recent member of the X-Force (congratulate him!) after 20 years at Excalibur Cutlery, Inc. Connections endorse his proficiency with customer needs assessment, sales, problem solving, and more. He’s also very pumped about his new gig – or afraid of getting sliced by his new employer. Michael Keaton deserves an award for the Batman comment he made at a graduation speech

TwitterFacebook

Michael Keaton was a damn good Batman.

The legendary actor gave a commencement speech at Kent State University graduation recently, and he wrapped things up in the most unbelievably wonderful way.

Michael Keaton closed his commencement speech at Kent State with “I’m Batman.”

Why focus on the bright careers of the young graduates when literally Batman is standing at the podium? The only thing that would have made it better would be if Adam West had swung in and fought Keaton for the microphone. Read more…

‘Deadpool 2’ tries to have it both ways

TwitterFacebook

In typical superhero story fashion, Deadpool 2 begins by robbing its hero of the power that makes him special.

No, not his accelerated healing factor — his ability to surprise.

The first Deadpool felt like a breath of fresh air, a corrective to years of super-serious super-stories. Here, finally, was a superhero who knew he was in a superhero movie, and knew how to play around with the conventions. Here was a guy who could say what we were all thinking, and lots of R-rated things we weren’t.

All of those are still true about Wade Wilson in Deadpool 2. The difference is that none of it’s shocking anymore, since we’ve been down this road before. Read more…

Deadpool’s ‘no spoilers’ letter is as hilariously brutal as you’d expect

TwitterFacebook

Thanos may demand your silence, but Wade respectfully requests that you staple your lips shut.

Jack-of-all-trades Ryan Reynolds shared a letter from his character (and presumably best friend) Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, on Wednesday.

In the run up to Deadpool 2 the Merc with a Mouth had a message for his adoring fans.

Lovingly, Wade#deadpool2 pic.twitter.com/FEPOCVKRDc

— Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) May 9, 2018

Messages don’t come much clearer than that. The letter also includes a cute meta-joke. The “20th Century Fox” letterhead is crossed out with “TBD” scrawled next to it — a reference to Disney’s purchase of Fox. Read more…

Céline Dion has a restraining order against Deadpool in this behind-the-scenes footage

TwitterFacebook

Deadpool may have collaborated in a truly beautiful music video with the Canadian songstress, but that doesn’t mean he’s allowed anywhere near her.

Following the amazing music video for the upcoming Deadpool 2, a video was posted from behind the scenes of the shoot. In the clip it’s revealed that the performer was not in fact Céline Dion, but Céline Dion’s hologram.
