Deadpool’s ‘no spoilers’ letter is as hilariously brutal as you’d expect

TwitterFacebook

Thanos may demand your silence, but Wade respectfully requests that you staple your lips shut.

Jack-of-all-trades Ryan Reynolds shared a letter from his character (and presumably best friend) Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, on Wednesday.

In the run up to Deadpool 2 the Merc with a Mouth had a message for his adoring fans.

Lovingly, Wade#deadpool2 pic.twitter.com/FEPOCVKRDc

Messages don’t come much clearer than that. The letter also includes a cute meta-joke. The “20th Century Fox” letterhead is crossed out with “TBD” scrawled next to it — a reference to Disney’s purchase of Fox. Read more…

It sure seems like this ‘Avengers’ actor tweeted a major spoiler about their character

TwitterFacebook

Warning: This story contains major spoilers for the ending of Avengers: Infinity War.

Okay, so you’ve seen Avengers: Infinity War, possibly multiple times if the box office numbers are any indication. You’re still trying to suss out what’s what — not just because of that harrowing ending, but also everything else that occurs throughout the film.

Well, it seems at least one actor from the Marvel Cinematic Universe has tweeted out what could be seen as a pretty big spoiler. It seems to remove any doubt about the fate of the character for those that have seen the film and were left to wonder if this person would be around for Avengers 4 (and beyond) next year. Mark Ruffalo spoiled ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ last year, but no one believed him

TwitterFacebook

MarkDude. You’re a great Bruce Banner, but you’re terrible at this whole keeping secrets thing.

When Avengers: Infinity War stars Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle sat down for a chat with Good Morning America in July 2017, Ruffalo did a dumb thing. He spoiled the end of Infinity War.

What? I’m not going to do the thing and tell you what he said. You’ll have to watch the video to hear the spoilers for yourself. (Honestly, it’s also just funnier that way.)

Uh oh, @DonCheadle, is @MarkRuffalo going to get in trouble with @MarvelStudios now!? #InfinityWar #D23expo pic.twitter.com/WR5C1QCBTb

HQ Trivia’s comments are just one more place to fear ‘Last Jedi’ spoilers

There may truly be no haven from Star Wars: The Last Jedi spoilers.
While playing our office’s favorite daily trivia game yesterday (which I’m still sure will be gone in six months), we were alarmed to see something in the comments that we didn…

5 rules for Star Wars spoilers to get ready for ‘The Last Jedi’

TwitterFacebook

Spoiler season is upon us. For the third year in a row, there’s a new Star Wars film releasing in December, and by this time Friday the world will be full of volatile Last Jedi spoilers at every turn.

But what if you can’t see The Last Jedi at midnight because you’ll be a mess at work the next day? What if you have holiday events, weekend plans in another state, and can’t actually go see it until Monday night (no I am not talking about myself I’m fine!!!)??

In the age of internet, of next-day takes and analysis and memes and reviews, spoiler culture is thriving. It’s terrifying for those who wish to experience fiction afresh, without even the slightest idea what we’re in for so we get a genuine emotional reaction. Others believe the time for being precious about spoilers is passed; the movie is out, the show aired, the book released – if you haven’t experienced it firsthand by now, you shouldn’t care. ‘Outlander’ stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan discuss the Season 3 finale’s twist ending

TwitterFacebook

Spoiler alert: This recap contains plot details for Outlander Season 3, episode 13, titled “The Eye of the Storm.” To refresh your memory of where we left off, check out our episode 12 recap.

Outlander Season 3 has taken Claire and Jamie Fraser on a truly epic voyage — from Scotland to Jamaica, and now to America, as the last moments of the finale revealed.

The two have faced impossible odds — from murderous excisemen and jealous wives to kidnappings and arrests, not to mention a separation of 20 years (on top of a separation of 200 years) — but Season 3 still ends on a hopeful note. After surviving a devastating storm, Claire and Jamie have inadvertently washed up on the shores of America, leaving the baggage of the past behind them. Read more…

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ trailer gives a heartbreaking hint about what happens after ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

TwitterFacebook

Thor: Ragnarok had a pretty downer ending for such an upbeat film, and Avengers: Infinity War doesn’t look much cheerier.

Marvel’s mighty box office smash ended with Asgard obliterated and its surviving citizens crammed onto a stolen spaceship, headed toward Earth and an uncertain (if hopeful) future — until an ominous looking vessel loomed overhead in a post-credits scene

It doesn’t take a nuclear physicist with seven PhDs to surmise that said loomer is probably Thanos, which is bad news for the embattled Asgardians — especially if these scenes in the new Infinity War trailer are anything to go by.  Read more…

‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 will be ‘the greatest thing that’s ever aired on TV’

TwitterFacebook

We can always count on Jason Momoa’s enthusiasm to get us through the day, whether he’s brightening up Justice League with his bro-speak or geeking out about Game of Thrones, the show that killed him off back in Season 1 but still retains his eternal loyalty.

During a recent visit to Belfast to see his buddies — but not to reprise his role as Khal Drogo (“He’s dead! He can’t come back, it wouldn’t work,” Momoa insists) — the Aquaman star apparently found out a lot more than he wanted to about Game of Thrones‘ final season.

Yup, ‘Jane the Virgin’ just killed [spoiler]! Who did it?

Spoilers for Friday’s episode of Jane the Virgin

To be fair, Narrator did warn us.

A few episodes ago, Narrator told us that this season one of six characters (Rafael, Petra, Luisa, Alba, Anezka, or Magda) would die. It’s the oldest trick in the book, after all.

Well friends, Friday’s episode ended with Petra discovering her evil(ish) twin sister Anezka, dead, hanging from the ceiling, and a tease from Narrator: She didn’t kill herself.

Gasp!

This is devastating news for those of us who love to watch Yael Grobglas continue to impress by hilariously portraying both twins, but from a storytelling perspective, it certainly makes sense: You can only pull the old switcharoo so many times. I’m excited to see how this plot unfolds, and what mayhem at the Marbella ensues because of it. (Seriously, how many murders does it take to shut down a hotel?!) Read more…

All the ’80s references you might’ve missed in ‘Stranger Things 2’

TwitterFacebook

Warning: This post contains spoilers for Stranger Things 2.

It was the 1980s – you kinda had to be there. But thanks to a deep reservoir of references and Easter eggs in the second season of Stranger Things, it’s almost like you were.

Since its first season, Netflix’s spooky series has taken a healthy dose of John Carpenter-style horror (channeling the atmospheric, synth-scored vibes of films like The Thing, The Fog and Starman), added a hearty dollop of Spielbergian, suburban kid adventure (notably E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial, Poltergeist and The Goonies) and blended it all with the era’s key pop cultural touchstones in gaming, music and fashion. The resulting ’80s flavor never overwhelms the main course of story and character, but makes the meal even tastier.  Read more…
