Holiday card family member is each and everyone one of us

TwitterFacebook

When it comes to family holiday gatherings, you can pretty much expect the same old typical questions, “How’s your love life?” “How’s your career going?” or “When are you planning on having kids?”

Oh, the joy.

The same can be said of Christmas cards. Families are all too ready to show off how well put together their lives are while the rest of us just grin and die a little more inside.

One family decided to lay it flat in the open, proving we’re not all that different, because the majority of us are all “Emily.”

Your Thanksgiving won’t be complete without these 8 comedy episodes

TwitterFacebook

It may be what Schmidt from New Girl once labeled the “least sexy American holiday,” but Thanksgiving is a great time for food, and even better, for TV. Chase your turkey dinner by binging these festive episodes, and give thanks for peak TV.

Master of None, Season 2, episode 7: “Thanksgiving”

One of the best television episodes of 2017 is also an oustanding holiday episode and beautiful character study for Denise (Lena Waithe) on Master of None. Waithe and Aziz Ansari earned an Emmy for writing the episode, which draws largely from Waithe’s personal experiences and features Angela Bassett in an exceptional performance as Denise’s mother. This smart device can be just the thing you need to make the holidays magical

TwitterFacebook

Preparing for the holidays can be pretty stressful. Between shopping, wrapping, cooking, cleaning, organizing, and making sure you see all your friends and loved ones during the season, the holidays can often feel like a pressure cooker, with details falling by the wayside. Make Black Friday green: The ‘Amazon for social impact’ is here

TwitterFacebook

The holiday season is finally here, which means spending quality time with family and friends, spreading good cheer and goodwill, and … rushing to find the best shopping deals imaginable.

As Black Friday approaches, one website is trying to turn the holiday shopping experience on its head, all through a new site that makes you a more ethical shopper year-round.

DoneGood, a tech startup that launched last year out of the Harvard Innovation Lab, rolled out a new site Monday that helps people find ethical and sustainable alternatives to products typically purchased from corporate giants. The idea is that you’re looking to purchase these products anyway — why not buy them from companies you’ll feel good about supporting? Read more…

No one asked for it, but Salted Caramel Pepsi is here

TwitterFacebook

Salted caramel, the it-girl flavor of a few years back, has arrived in soda form.

Pepsi is releasing a salted caramel variant of the cola-flavoured drink in the U.S., as part of a suite of products in time for the holiday season.

The company describes it as an “indulgent new, limited-time flavor which blends the refreshing taste of cola with a delicious caramel finish.”

Love salted caramel but in Pepsi? That sounds awful.😝 pic.twitter.com/t5sG0UmWeg

It’s Christmas now: Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ has entered the iTunes charts

TwitterFacebook

And thus, it was Christmas. For Mariah had decreed it so.

That’s right, folks: the holiday haters in your life are wrong. Even though it’s only Nov. 2 and I still have fake spiders all over my apartment, it’s officially the holiday season.

Why? Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is on the iTunes charts.

To be fair, Mariah has known that it’s Christmas for a while — she put her tree up at the beginning of October. Now, though, we’ve finally listened to our wintry empress. Her flawless holiday bop is currently at #58 on iTunes’s “Top Songs” chart, which reflects top downloads. (You can buy the song for $1.29 — a steal if you consider it the source of all holiday spirit.) Read more…
