The United States of memes has something everyone can relate to

TwitterFacebook

State pride is something we can all relate to — except when you’re actually home.

As millions of people traveled back home for Thanksgiving, people started to get real nostalgic for their home state. A far-too-relatable trend began, and eventually people of the United States realized that we all hate to love and love to hate our home state.

Here’s a little bit of hometown pride from all 50 states.

Alabama:

Me in Alabama: fuck bama

Me anywhere else: Alabama, land of the sweetest tea and brisket crafted by Saban’s angels. Such a breathtaking countryside view, you can hear “roll tide” be whispered by the gods & banjos coming from up above.Sweet home, Alabama. Sweet home(sheds tear) https://t.co/pxErVuw5Lq

On Sunday, Stephanie Grisham, the White House director of communications for First Lady Melania Trump, tweeted this nightmarish scene from inside the White House, as she was putting finishing touches on the decorations. Bunches of dead trees illuminated only from the bottom cast a horrifying shadow on the hallway’s ceiling, leading to a lonely Christmas tree at the end. Read more…

Henry Cavill’s mustache was digitally removed in ‘Justice League’ and it’s laughably bad

While there has been plenty of criticism surrounding the new comic book flick Justice League, we need to talk about Superman’s upper lip.
Henry Cavill plays the role of Clark Kent/Superman in the film, a role which apparently called for a clean cut f…

Barack Obama just wished Joe Biden a happy birthday with an original Obama-Biden meme

TwitterFacebook

It’s former Vice President Joe Biden’s 75th birthday and Barack Obama kicked off the celebration in the only appropriate way: his own twist on the legendary Obama-Biden memes.

Obama celebrated his former colleague and their storied bromance with a sweet nod to Biden, calling him a “brother and the best vice president anybody could have.”

ME: Joe, about halfway through the speech, I’m gonna wish you a happy birth—
BIDEN: IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!
ME: Joe.

Steve Mnuchin and his wife held a sheet of dollar bills and made the internet rich with memes

TwitterFacebook

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and his wife Louise Linton posing with a large sheet of dollar bills is America’s newest, ridiculously bizarre meme.

On Wednesday, Mnuchin and U.S. Treasurer Jovita Carranza visited the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to check out the first new batch of $1 bills that feature their signatures, The Associated Press reported. But when it came time for the photo op things got pretty weird.

Mnuchin grabbed a sheet of bills, stood by his wife — who just so happened to be decked out in a black, leather ensemble — and the two proceeded to assume the roles of the most awkward villains in the world. Read more…

A couple’s viral photo results in a Twitter thread that’ll make your day

TwitterFacebook

Embarrassing photos happen to everyone and it’s best to embrace ’em, share ’em, and go viral on the internet.

New Yorker Mike Tague attended a friend’s wedding with his boyfriend, Andrew Mercier, and while sitting at their table, the photographer snapped a candid photo of the couple. The photo is lovely until you notice one thing in the way — a glass that turned Tague’s face into something out of a fun house.

Sure, Tague looks like a hybrid between a shrunken head and James Van Der Beek, but that didn’t stop him from sharing the photo on the internet. The image has since brought joy to the masses living in an otherwise cruel world.  Read more…
