‘Outlander’ Season 4 ventures into a brave new world of American history
Another season of Outlander — another leap into relocation to new political upheaval.
After four years of this pattern, you’d think the gimmick would get old. But the time-traveling period drama might’ve actually found its most fascinating and fertile ground yet in the new frontier of Season 4’s colonial America.
The reunited Frasers landed on American shores after last season’s almost-fatal trek around the world. And as the couple now seeks to make a home in the Land of the Free, they come to discover that its citizen are a lot more backwards than the beautiful but dangerous woods they’re trying to tame. ‘Outlander’ has been renewed for two more seasons and we’d like to time travel to watch them now, please
For those who have been with Outlander’s Claire and Jamie since the first season aired in 2014, it’s hard to even imagine an end to their epic time-hopping journey.
Luckily, we won’t have to imagine it for quite some time. Starz and Sony Pictures Television have announced the wildly popular show’s renewal for at least two more seasons, running 12 episodes each.
For those keeping track, that means we’ll get the upcoming fourth season currently in production slated for release in November 2018 — and then have two additional seasons (if not more) to look forward to in the future.

Out with the old and in with the new: a new Prince Philip just rolled into the royal court, and he’s a very familiar face to Outlander fans.
Tobias Menzies, the talented actor in the Starz show behind both Jack and Frank Randall, joins the Netflix cast of The Crown for its upcoming Season 3. Those familiar with Outlander know that Menzies can really ride the line between a perfect British gentleman, and an abhorrently vindictive human being — which is perfect for Philip’s characterization in this fictionalization of the royal family.

Shipwrecked souls: Behind the scenes of Outlander’s Season 3 finale
It’s a crisp June morning on Silverstroom Beach, a secluded bay located on the western cape of South Africa. The normally pristine stretch of soft white sand is littered with the debris left behind after a catastrophic shipwreck — barrels, rigging, and jagged chunks of wood.
There are two bodies on the beach, a man and a woman, both damp and dishevelled. She lies motionless as he crawls towards her, his movements desperate despite his obvious exhaustion, and sweeps the sand-matted hair from her face. For a moment, she doesn’t stir, then a wracking cough shakes her body, and relief blooms on his face Read more…

Outlander Season 3 has taken Claire and Jamie Fraser on a truly epic voyage — from Scotland to Jamaica, and now to America, as the last moments of the finale revealed.
The two have faced impossible odds — from murderous excisemen and jealous wives to kidnappings and arrests, not to mention a separation of 20 years (on top of a separation of 200 years) — but Season 3 still ends on a hopeful note.
