New Zealand’s prime minister is pregnant, and that’s a big deal for working mothers

TwitterFacebook

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is having a baby.

Ardern made the announcement via Twitter on Friday morning, writing that she and her partner Clarke Gayford will “join the many parents who wear two hats.”

“I’ll be PM & a mum while Clarke will be ‘first man of fishing’ & stay at home dad. There will be lots of questions (I can assure you we have a plan all ready to go!) but for now bring on 2018,” she added.

We thought 2017 was a big year! This year we’ll join the many parents who wear two hats. I’ll be PM & a mum while Clarke will be “first man of fishing” & stay at home dad. Contraceptive app “Natural Cycles” is being blamed for 37 unwanted pregnancies

TwitterFacebook

Birth control apps may be convenient but they’re not proven to be more effective than any other method of contraception.

Not convinced? Cut to Natural Cycles, a birth control app that’s currently being blamed for 37 unwanted pregnancies, according to Swedish publication SVT

Natural Cycles — which once claimed to be “the only approved contraceptive app out there” — appealed to users through confident branding, touting the lack of side effects that pills and IUDs can cause. And while that sounds nice, with no hormonal regulations, the app’s potential for success is a bit dubious.

Clever girl FaceTimed her dad to complain that her little brother pooped on the floor

TwitterFacebook

This guy took daddy duties to a whole new level…

Dante was relaxing at home when he received a FaceTime request from his daughter, who was just upstairs. Apparently, her brother left a little surprise on the carpet of their playroom, and she felt the need to tell him about it.

It gets worse.

Little girl draws message in the snow urging Santa to take her brother away

TwitterFacebook

This little girl’s plight is one shared by nigh-on everyone with a sibling. Because, let’s be real, brothers and sisters, while kind, loving and good fun at best, can also be mightily annoying.

9-year-old Jennifer Murphy from St. John’s, Newfoundland, came up with a plan while out playing in the snow with her mum, Jo-Ann. She penned a message to Santa instructing him to “Leave presents, take brother!” I like your style, Jennifer.

Mom masterfully trolls her daughter, who’s just trying to make a nice video

TwitterFacebook

Embarrassing your kids will never not be entertaining.

A young woman attempting to show off her musical talent was completely trolled by her own mother.

Dajia Davis posted a short clip to her Twitter account on Tuesday. It begins with her singing and playing a piano cover of “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur. She’s quite good. But just as Davis is getting into the tune, her mom strolls up, looks directly into the camera, and starts to dance.
