Watch this dad slide all over an icy driveway to rescue his daughter’s new toy

Not even mother nature can come between a child and their new toy.

One dedicated dad in Alaska was forced to brave a formidable sheet of ice on the family’s driveway in order to bring his three-year-old a toy kitchen she’d been looking forward to getting for quite some time.

After a bunch of freezing rain fell on their small town outside of Anchorage, everything was covered in a thick layer of ice — including little Adalynn’s new toy that was in the back of the family’s truck. Her dad, Kyle, went on a rescue mission, which led to him sliding all over their driveway and into the street.

His treacherous walk paid off: Kyle overcame the slippery conditions and was able to deliver Adalynn her long-awaited kitchen. He’s now a strong contender for “Dad of the Year.” Read more…

The girl giving her dad the hand in a viral video tells everyone to chill

TwitterFacebook

A video of a horrified girl giving a middle aged man the hand after he says something to her at a watch party for Dan Crenshaw went viral on Tuesday night.

But the girl from the video wants everyone to chill — it’s just her dad.

In the video posted by @gina_lolz, the man says something to the girl before she turns to him, clearly offended. She throws up a hand before he can finish and struts away.

“Please find this girl I have to know what that guy said to her,” the OP tweeted.

Ellie Delgado, a high schooler from Houston, set the record straight.  Read more…

FridaBalls are padded underwear for guys so they can protect their man parts from wriggling toddlers

Jiobit launches its more secure, modular child location tracker starting at $100

To date, child location trackers have failed to live up to consumer expectations. Fatherhood has changed, and so have the stock photos

A father leans in, watching his daughter as she paints his nails. He’s sporting a feather boa, she’s wearing a tiara. Another man smiles as he listens to his kid sitting on the kitchen counter next to a rolling pin, measuring cups, and a laptop. She’s stirring ingredients as he steadies the bowl

These are the scenes depicted in two of Getty Images’ most-downloaded photos of fathers from 2016 and 2017, respectively. The tender moments are a world away from a popular shot from a decade ago: a father roughhousing with his son, diving for the ol’ pigskin in the yard.

The shift is an important one. Stock photos represent the broadest brush strokes of how we see ourselves. They’re the images used in commercials, on billboards, on websites, on social media, even in textbooks. As dads, statistically, become more involved in child-rearing and home care, Getty, a leader in the stock photo world, is striving to show that. Read more…
