This man’s emoji-themed excuse went down really badly with the police

We’ve all come out with terrible excuses in our lives, but come on…

The Merseyside Police Roads Policing Team Twitter account shared an image on Tuesday of an excuse a driver gave for texting while driving.

Wallaby on the loose on city highway pursued by police

TwitterFacebook

Even though wallabies are native to Australia, you’d be hard-pressed to find them casually hopping around in the city.

It’s perhaps why police got quite the surprise when a swamp wallaby was found bouncing along the Sydney Harbour Bridge, one of the city’s busiest roads, early Tuesday morning.

Traffic controllers and police monitored the wallaby’s trip down the highway, where it made an exit at the Cahill Expressway.

Ambulance gets called out for figure in park, turns out to be a statue

TwitterFacebook

We know better safe than sorry is the old adage, but if you call an ambulance out for a statue this idiom loses its wisdom a bit.

An ambulance in the UK received a call about a person in a park. The caller was worried that they were sitting perfectly still and covered in snow. It turns out there was a very good reason for that.

Next, call from a member of the public who was concerned that there was someone sat on a bench, not moving and covered in snow!
Luckily, on our arrival, it turned out to be a statue! 🙈👍🏻🚑 pic.twitter.com/mIBHmse4DF

If police work didn’t already strike you as a job that raises your adrenaline levels, New Zealand Police’s new recruitment video wants to up the ante.

In what it has dubbed its “most entertaining recruitment video, yet!” the police force’s ad features dramatic Hollywood-style drums, a helluva a lot of running, and comedic moments that are actually funny, believe it or not.
